Don't bother with this place. Went in to replace a broken spoke and true my rear wheel. 2 problems. First, the website price chart say $15. I was charged $20 for service + $1 for a spoke. So maybe they raise the price and haven't

The work they did on my bike did not fix the problem I was told it would. When I inquired about a refund, I was offered half because "the work has already been done."

In addition, I was charged more for a different task I asked them to do than I was quoted when I brought the bike into the store.

All but one of the employees I encountered in both my visits seemed uninterested in their job and ready to leave for the day.

There are better local bike shops in Minneapolis and around the Twin Cities. The longer drive is certainly worth it.

I brought my bike into Eriks to get a basic issue fixed. Eriks "fixed it" and I went on my way. The only problem was, it happened again! I went back there 3 times, paying over $100 each time to get it fixed. Went I went to valley the experience was great. I got a very smart employee, they fixed it quickly, they charged half of what eriks charged, and it was done in a day. I was so impressed, I came back to buy my new bike, skis, and winter-wear.
I will never go anywhere else.

Pros: Great customer service, good sales, great mechanics

Cons: Small size

I am VERY disappointed with Valley Bike and Ski...
Here's what happened...
A few weeks ago I had called Erics Bike Shop about getting a Yakima roof-rack and installed. Apparently, they are not authorized to assist people in assembling them. I can understand this (liability reasons I assume), so I thought I would see if there was a store out there that did.
So I called Valley Bike and Ski and they told me that they would install it/help. I thought GREAT! Well, when we went down there and started gathering all the different parts we needed for the car, I'm telling the sales associate about how we are going through them because Erics doesn't help or assemble it (and that I would be really nervous about doing it ourselves). Well, AFTER we had finalized the purchase, he tells me that they are tooo busy today, but will call later in the day or by monday...this would be fine except that, THEY NEVER DID!!! PLUS, they didn't sell us all of the parts, so my boyfriend had to go back and they didn't even have it, so he had to go to Erics and ended up assembling it himself....
I will never shop there again! You would think for such a small store they would have great customer service... especially with such a big purchase (those roof-racks are EXPENSIVE!) but, think again!

Valley Bike & Ski Shop has some great items. The staff is willing to help and are nice. The shop is small and it seems like they have way too many items in the small space. This can be frustrating. The often have great sales, which makes their prices close to unbeatable. Due to the size of the store they have to limit what merchandise they have on hand, sometimes when I visit the store they do not have the brand or style that I came for. Overall, a nice little local shop to visit and get a good deal on bikes, skis, snowboards, and accessories.
