5 Stars: P J Murphy's Bakery is a gem! (by Krista o.)

I have purchased everything but a cake from PJ's and they have all been wonderful. I highly recommend the lemon poppy seed bread! Cutest Elmo cupcakes I have ever seen. The staff have always been friendly and professional. This is just a gem to have in St. Paul.

2 Stars: RUDE STAFF! (by Jasmine L.)

Yes, the products the bakery produces have been very delicious and are reasonably priced, but it's not worth the trip when the staff treat you like dirt. I believe their horribly racist. Not only did I have to wait unit the mid-forties woman behind the counter was done talking on her cell phone ( 3-4 minutes) but I also encountered her coldness when a few patrons of color walked in; she looked them up and down and barked at them for their order, but treated me completely different. I would highly recommend giving your business to someone who appreciates ANYONE of race, sex, religion etc, and who knows how to treat any human with respect.

4 Stars: Great cakes! (by J R.)

This is our favorite place for birthday cakes!

The doughnuts are good, too, but some kinds sell out rather early in the day.

We don't buy the cookies.

4 Stars: Great little bakery (by Elaine W.)

This type of place is hard to find in the world of mass-market bakeries! They have a nice selection of breads and doughnuts, but what we go for is the birthday cakes! Not a lot of choices in decorations, but the cakes are delicious and not outrageously priced! We had them recreate our wedding cake for our 15th anniversary (the original came from Wuollets - only because we didn't know about PJ Murphys back then!) and they did a great job at about half the price! A friend of mine had a smaller wedding cake made by them as well and it was both beautiful and delicious! Their cookies tend to be stale and the staff can be somewhat cold sometimes however...

5 Stars: quality is priceless (by cari r.)

I adore PJ Murphy's. The prices are good, the food is fresh, and taste is impeccible. I always stop down on Thursday's farmers market in Minneapolis and I miss them when they're not there. The quiet family camaraderie makes me feel like I'm at Auntie Wendy's house. Go! Go now! and buy treats!!

4 Stars: Good Small Bakery (by Alex W.)

The prices here are extremely good; the doughnuts are pretty good. The cookies are very good, and a lot of fun ones, like the monster cookies. Although it is inconspicuous, it is worth finding.

3 Stars: Only so-so (by Jennifer S.)

My husband and I heard some friends raving about PJ Murphy's Bakery in St. Paul. I wasn't as impressed. The donuts were fresh, but were nothing spectacular. Also, the staff tends to be a bit grumpy. The prices are same as other bakeries in the area.
