I cannot recommend this shop.
I brought in a Fender Jaguar Baritone to have some work done on it. Right away the guy working the counter is implying that I'm some kind of fool for wanting to put Bass VI strings on this guitar. He had an abrasive condescending attitude from the start.
Actually the Fender Jaguar Baritone originally shipped with Bass VI strings, but what do I know, I don't sell guitars for a living.
So I leave the guitar at the shop anyways. And five days later I get a call from the service tech, asking if a had the pickup covers. I said I didn't have the covers, and could they order them, he said sure. Then 2 weeks later I get a call saying they cannot find the covers for sale anywhere. I look on Google and I find and buy some covers in 5 minutes, seriously!
Conclusion: Working on my guitar was evidently beneath them.
I can do all the guitar work I was having them do myself, but I'm busy with work, and I like to support local businesses. If you want an example of a great music store with great customer service, check out the Podium in Dinky Town.
Peace.

The first time I visited Willies, I was very skeptical. I had heard that world famous musicians often visited and were friends with the staff and luthiers. But upon walking in, this was a music store for the true professionals. If you're looking to go on tour, let Willie's set you up. The only downside was that they weren't taking guitars to be setup.

PROS: wide selection of fine equipment, knowledgable staff
CONS: long wait for certain items/service

If you're in the market for vintage guitar/bass gear, Willies American Guitars is a great place to check out. They specialize in vintage and boutique gear, and most items carry a hefty price tag, so if you're on a tight budget this may not be the right place. They have a friendly and knowledgeable staff and are a must see if you can afford it.
