I saw "Ashley" at Woodbury (TRAINER @ $38.00)
The day was: Monday May 20, 2013
My Uncle died, and I stopped in to see if someone could please give me a nice wash/style for the funeral: ASHLEY.........
(1) Did a terrible "quickie" hairwash (didn't even get the base of my neckline clean)
(2) Used about 1/8 oz. of conditioner
(3) Left half of the soap/conditioner on my hair, did NOT wash it thoroughly out, & it felt dull and lackluster, stickey
(4). Charged me $38 for a blow-dry, no curling iron.... on my short hair, and it was the WORST experience I've ever had! TOTAL TIME: 22 MINUTES !!!!!!!!!!!
(5) Used a "Clogged" bottle of hairspray on my hair, and it shot out GLOBS of dried hairspray on the back on my head, which she NEVER told me about. Only later did someone tell me that I had dried globs of hairspray on the back on my head while I was at the funeral.
(6) Before I left the salon (which was deader than a doornail on Monday late morning), I asked her kindly if she could "re-do" part of the atrocious style she gave me, & she said she couldn't.
I used to see a fabulous "Color-Specialist" at Rocco's, and found out she left the Salon. I can see why! What's happened to this place? WORST Customer Service I have ever had., and will never go back.

I used to go there to get my nails done. I was in a pinch and needed to get my hair done as well so I thought "why not I'm here anyway." Well she colored my hair- I have black hair and she dyed in brown. I was so mad. Then they don't dry

I just found myself in a predicament..... I have always loved roccos, I have been a client for 9 years or so. I have been to a few different people and have always had good experiences. But, about two years ago I got my hair cut by Ethan and I was hooked. He suggested Andria to color my hair and she has been great, always getting the color right on.
Now what to do?? I have been hearing from other people that they are working at another salon called Denny Kemp.
RoccoAltobelli has been great and I can trust them if I ever were to need to come back to them.

Pros: great salon, friendly people, always hospitable

Cons: My stylist and colorist went missing.

Worst haircut ever by Ashley. She is leaving to go to the woodbury salon so beware. I have a mullet in back and wings on the sides. I could just cry it looks so bad. And what does one do - go back there and have another trainee cut it? I just feel like it is a lose lose situation.

I have been to the St. Paul salon several times this past year. I am nearly 60 years old and have grown weary of the inappropriate discussions initiated by the stylists. They must be able to differentiate ages of customers and realize they just can't approach seniors the same way as 25 year olds. I am so tired of "what are you doing for fun today?" or "have you seen any great movies this week?". I would rather sit in peace and quiet or discuss the weather. I don't understand the need to talk. This is most likely a person I won't see again since they come and go so quickly.

Decided to treat myself to a pedicure one day and found myself at Rocco's. It was such a wonderful experience that I am now a regular. Environment was very relaxing, service exceptional and price is fair for an hour of pampering.

They are very demanding and will cut your hair the way THEY think it should be, I went in growing my hair out (which takes me a long time) about to my shoulders and walked out with an asymmetrical graduated bob that I can't style or do anything with, Maybe it fits my face but I want long hair and now I will spend another 5 months growing it to what it was.

Pros: Variety of employees

Cons: Some employees were very unproffesional

I have been going to the St. Paul school for about 2 years now and its always really been a hit-or-miss with the color techs. I have returned for re-do's often because they were either unable to match the color or cover the roots all the way. The prices are cheap but the exterior and interior is homely. Hair drying not included with the color. What really upset me about them is that they refused to give me the color formulation for my color. I have never encountered the unwillingness to do this from any other salon or stylist. While I understand that this may be considered work product, I think that from a public relations standpoint, it is not smart to deny the client from gaining access to this information. Whatever the reason for wanting it, people experiment and come and go from salon to salon. Further, if a person is contemplating switching salons, they are bound to lose them as a client regardless. This is NOT the way to retain clients!

I have gone to the Roseville location for about 1 year now. Ethan is the best hairstylist and I have lived all over the country and paid triple the price for the same cuts elsewhere. He is such a great talent. Beth does my color and she too is trustworthy and wonderful. Highly recommend the roseville local and the prices are very reasonable.

Pros: prices, trusting stylists and colorist

Cons: none

This location is not the most attractive building. The staff was extremely nice, the price amazing, and the end result exactly what I wanted. I would tell anyone with a small budget this is a must

Looking at the other reviews truly saddens me due to the fact everyone I know that goes to this salon loves the experience and the results! The hair stylists and other employees are very friendly and typically work with you to truly achieve what you are looking to do. I have gone to Rocco's for years and am almost always satisfied with my experience.

I went to this salon for a year. I worked with an instructor. She ruined my hair. Cut it into a uneven mess. I did receive a refund for the final haircut. But was treated rudely and I thought their conduct was unprofessional and truely mean. I wore extentions for 6 months untilit grew back in. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

I've used the students coming out of salon school here and had mixed results - some really good and some really lousy. The advantage is - cheap price. Almost all of the students leave for other locations in a short time, so don't expect the same stylist on a permanent basis. I haven't really used the permanent staff, so I can't speak to their performance. Service at the front desk and on the phone is exceptionally good.

Not a trendy salon, not up to date, very retro in finish. I guess it suits the mold of the average client but I need more. I went to this place once & realized it was basically for old folks and women with kids in daycare with no jobs.
