The food is ok. Not too Chinese but edible. Being a buffet they get fat idiots in there. I have eaten there more than once and saw a woman start eating out of the self-serve ice cream machine because she was a fat slob and could not wait

I love hopes! I have been dining here for about 15 years! The take out is the best take out i've ever had! I also love the buffet! They have great beef and brocolli and sechuan chicken!

I have dine at Hopes a couple of times. I think the food is a bit average. I had the steak, and it was raw. Most of the food from the buffet are cold at times and some are not fresh, especially the broccoli beef and the pepper chicken. I noticed under the booths, they have set up mouse traps and the plastic cups at the rims are dirty. I notice the salads are not fresh. It looks like the salads are from morning all day. If you eat a lot of crab legs and seafood, the owner, the Asian woman at the cash register constantly watches you eat. They are stingy owners. That lady (owner) is always constantly watching you eat and i find that uncomfortable. Susan, the waitress gives bad services and bad mouthing other customers. Don't ever dine in that place due to bad customer service.

My boyfriend and I have visited Hopes OFTEN on days off for lunch and Sataurdays for lunch and we must say they have the best Chow Mein in town. Not to mention almost everything on their buffet table. The one thing we both miss which is funny is the garlic bread of all things. We drive by nightly and see the crowd of cars and I am always thinking "those lucky people" The price is VERY reasonable and we ALWAYS leave with a FULL belly! It is a MUST TRY BUFFET!!

The food was great! I have been looking for a Chinese Restaurant just as good as my mothers from back home. It had a great family restaurant feel and the seafood was delicious. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good Chinese cuisine!!

Hey! Hopes is a great Chinese food place. The egg rolls are fabulous, but some people are still scared because the y got bad reviews from the Health Board. If you are afraid try House of Wong down in Roseville> MMMMM. Also if your at Hopes try the Shrimp Fried Rice you will not be dissapointed>

I used to eat there quite often. But they quit making some of the more authentic chinese dishes and didn't put them on the menu either. I sure miss their Chicken and Eggplant. Their Lemon Chicken is not as good as it used to be. They started using frozen pre-breaded chicken pieces (like McNuggets) instead of frying the breast filets themselves.

When I saw them pick up food that a customer had dropped on the side of the buffet table and throw it back in the pan, it kinda grossed me out.

Pros: If you are hungry they fill you up with lots of Americanized chinese food

Cons: Not very clean, thew food back in steam table after it was dropped on the siderail.

For the price Hopes buffett is good. I recently dinned at Hopes on a Sunday evening. I was in the area and craving Chinese Buffett. Trying to eat crab legs without the proper tools is certainly a challenge. No complaints with the food. I left with a full stomach and without much dent in the wallet.

Hope's Chinese in Spring Lake Park, MN isn't the best Chinese buffet in town. We checked it out recently. We walked into a very old Country Kitchen style restaurant, which is fine. They still have a smoking section though, which was immediately upsetting. The food was dry and overcooked. The egg rolls, one of my favorite chinese foods, were dry and gross. The cabbage was shriveled up. The crab legs were old and brown. The food selection on the buffet was also very slim, and almost all entrees were over cooked. It basically seemed like the lunch buffet was just left out for dinner. We'll be finding other chinese restaurants for our next chinese meal.

PROS: NONE!
CONS: Poor Food, Smoking section near food
