We took 2 rifles and a shotgun here to see what they could do with them since they had been subjected to a basement flood and had became quite rusty. They said that the guns would have to go to their custom gunsmith at another location

You would never expect it from an independent 1-location gun store, but their prices on new guns really are considerably lower than the big sporting goods chain stores. And their staff is made up of older veterans of the gun business, not

After trying another gun store and two pawn shops, I thought I'd try this place to see what they would give me for my late father's old guns. Here I learned the pawn shops were certainly trying to rip me off. The other gun store had

Great gun shop. These guys have a HUGE selection. I've been in there a number of times and have purchased several firearms over time. Personally I never sensed even a hint of racism and I'm African-American. I've always been treated with respect and dignity. There's no skinny blonde guy who works there either, I wonder what that's all about? I know all their staff including the owner since I'm a ""regular"" customer.

...but the older longhaired guy, Marv Platt, who manages the shop certainly is He's been known to make jokes about going 'Can shooting -- Africans, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans - and he like a lot of the gun crowd believes everything FOX News and Rush ""why don't you take the bone out of your nose"" Limbaugh says. \n\nI'd post some of his Facebook rants here but Citysearch doesn't allow URLs to be posted.

Frontiersman is THE place to buy and sell guns. The guys there really know their stuff. They have a huge selection of new and used guns. I shopped around for price when I was in the market to purchase my brand new Glock pistol and Frontiersman's price was $70 less than the next cheapest local retailer. Seriously!

Very helpful and informed staff here. The selection of hunting rifles and quality pistols were extensive and reasonably priced. If you are requesting a particular model of handgun or rifle they will go out of their way to locate and order it for you. I really enjoy the Desert Eagle I purchased and would strongly recommend Frontiersman for all of your Hunting and Personal Protection needs.

They stock more handguns than anyone else and their prices are excellent. I usually trade in my older guns there in order to trade up since they seem to pay the most for used guns. The guys there are literally gun experts, it's obvious they have been doing it for a lot of years. Also it seems they are making a lot of changes there lately. I've heard their new radio ads and they even have a website now. The place always seemed old-school (though in a good way) but it looks like they are now modernizing the place and expanding their offerings. They have a lot more assault rifles than before and they even have full-auto guns. The only thing that could make them better is if they had a range, too bad they don't have the room for one. Their gun and ammo prices are way cheaper than the places with ranges though so maybe it's for the best they don't have one...

I recently purchased a shotgun here even though there is another gun store that is 20 miles closer to my house. The sales people at the Frontiersman took the time to the answer questions I had which helped me decide on my purchase, As for the couple complaining about being shown the door... guess what? you deserved that. A licensed gun store cannot sit back and let some 'private sale' or even the beginnings of a private sale happen in the store. It could cost them their business.

Having never walked through the doors of the Frontiersman, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had gone in search of a particular item, and was told they had a good selection, but were a little grumpy...\nStepping through the gated door is a bit intimidating - especially being met with racks upon racks of firearms. I was greeted pleasantly enough about 6ft inside the door by Herb who asked if I was looking for anything in particular. Since I WAS looking for something in particular (although browsing here would be dangerous ONLY for the checkbook), he proceeded to answer my questions and tolerate my slight ineptitude quite well for the next 30 minutes. We had a great conversation the entire time; and their prices weren't much over the Internet (Gunbroker, etc...) -- definitely better than the bigger boys (Cabelas, Gander, etc).\nI left with my new purchase thinking ""Why the heck haven't I ever come in here before?""\nFANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!

A great shop with staff that are old hands. They have been there forever and really know their guns. Great return/exchange policy - especially when buying a used gun. They warranty used guns for 90 days(!). Hard to find that kind of service anywhere anymore. A+++

My fiancee is a big time hunger, so he's always looking for something better to shoot with. \r\nWe're always out at gun shops when we don't have anything better to do. Well, on Saturday December 6, 2008\r\naround 4:30 p.m., my fiancee and I decided to come here, Frontiersman. There\r\nwas a tall skinny man with long blonde hair, he greeted us in an asshole-like way \r\n(let me add this in... my fiancee and I were the only non-caucasians there.)\r\nMy fiancee was browsing around while I went to the bathroom. As I came out,\r\nI saw that blonde man stalking my fiancee around as if he was suspicious. I guess he caught me\r\nlooking at him and decided to stop staring at my fiancee. I went to my fiancee and we\r\nboth scanned through some Saiga's and Remington's and thats when I noticed\r\nthat the man was already two rows ahead of us, staring AGAIN. \r\nI kind of felt like we were discriminated. Well, let me fast-forward this a bit.\r\nThere was a man that came into the store and he wanted to sell his revolver to the store.\r\nThe blonde man looked at it and said he couldn't buy it, since it was a ""saturday night special.""\r\nMy fiancee admires revolvers a lot, and he asked the man whom was selling it, \r\nif he could see it and just look at it. The blonde man shouted at us and said, \r\n""WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING? YOU CAN'T DO THAT IN MY STORE!\r\nGET OUT OF MY STORE!"" Me and my fiancee looked confused and my fiancee asked, ""Are you serious?""\r\nAnd the blonde guy said, ""YEAH I'M SERIOUS! GO! SHOO! GET OUT! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?\r\nWHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?"" As my fiancee and I walked out... we were pretty upset\r\nthat we were treated that way. My fiancee works for the Ramsey County Police Department...\r\nThat's all I have to say. I've never felt so discriminated before. THIS PLACE IS PLAIN-RUDE
