They have a rodent problem and the fish tank in the cat room is so filthy it is just a green algae box. Not pleased at all.

Also this is from 2005. A Balck lab owner went to pick up his dog, and the dog he picked up was not his...let's take a look

This story from WCCO-TV in Minnesota is intriguing.

A couple took their black Labrador Retriever, Nicki, to be boarded at Four Paws Pet Resort in Eagan, Minnesota, for three days at the end of August. She had been there before; the staff knew her.

Owners Bill and Cris Ireland say that the dog they picked up is not the dog they dropped off. This dog has large, dark brown eyes and Nicki??s eyes were small and yellow. Nicki slept next to their bed and would cuddle with their cat. This dog won??t do that.

Owner of the pet resort, Cathryn Dimmen, insists, ??The dog that came in was Nicki and the dog that went home with him was Nicki.? She said she checked every record and there were no similar black Labs there at the same time. She said they have boarded thousands of pets and have never had a complaint like this.

The Irelands have hired a lawyer and said they have checked with two vets and will get a DNA test, if necessary, to help prove they got the wrong dog.

Intriguing.

On one hand, as dog owners we know our dogs like we know members of our family.

One time after a summer of camping, swimming, and hiking in the woods, we took our Old English Sheepdog in for a much needed grooming. When we went in to pick her up, as we stood in the doorway to the kennel area looking for our dog, this strange short haired dog came up behind us and greeted us joyfully.

It took a moment to realize that our shaggy mop of a dog had been shaved. We recognized the body language and whimpers of joy even though the outward appearance had changed totally.

On the other hand, I can??t imagine that anyone who has been around dogs for very long, let alone an experienced kennel owner, would think that getting away with switching dogs was even remotely possible.

Every dog has its own unique Dance of Joy to greet us when we??ve been apart for any length of time. A dog owner should know from the minute he sees the dog whether it is his dog or another of the same breed, and he should refuse to leave the business with someone else??s dog.

A DNA test, if feasible, would seem to be the only way to resolve this conflict

I worked at Four Paws awhile ago, and while most of the staff cared about the well-being of our furry guests, all the owner cared about was $. Her and her husband own plenty of other businesses and this is just another one of them. The way her kennel is set up is very odd. The upstairs is very warm and uncomfortable feeling. I felt that she always staffed the bare minimum [if not less] necessary. She had no idea how her business was being run, all she knew how to do was sit at the front 3 days a week with her horribly fake personality and yell into her walkie-talkie... I take that back she was also good at belittling her employees in front of customers. She came back, screamed at, and threatened to fire me because I couldn't hear her on the Walmart walkie over the barking dogs in the kennel.

As for daycare here : DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE! When I worked there, for most of the day the dogs sat in their kennels. They got out to play 2-3 times depending on how many dogs are in the facility.

I have been working with dogs for the last 10 years in just about every part of the pet care/hospitality industy [short of being a veterinarian], this is the only place I have felt the urge to write a negative review for.

There are plenty of great kennels around and sadly some not so great. Do your research before picking one to send Buddy to!

We have been using this doggy day care for years and have spent thousands of dollars here on boarding and grooming. Up until today we have been pleased with the service and our dogs have seemed to enjoy the stays there. My young daugther and I came from the airport to pick up our dog. We got there right at 4:00pm the closing time for pick up and the owner was not going to let us in and get our dog. (She was still at the front desk working with another family) I explained to her that the plane had been late and we got there as quickly as possible. She was already angry with the other customers that were trying to check their dog in and appeared to possibly not have the paper work she was looking for. She continued to take her anger out on me in front of my girl. I said to her twice, why are you being so mean. We have been very good and loyal customers for years. I tried to cut her anger by trying to be understanding that I am sure she had a long and busy week since it had been a holiday week, but she just got more angry and sarcastic when using her little walkie talkie to call for our dog to be brought up and told me she was charging me for an extra night even though we were there right at close. I paid it without arguing becuase I did not want my dog to spend another night in that place with a woman who had clearly lost it. I am sad to say we will not be bringing our pet back there again, which makes me sad because she did seem happy there, and the groomer Kim is great. We have never had any trouble with the rest of the staff, but if this is how this business is being run I can not in good faith leave our baby there or give this woman another penny.

Unfortunately the dog that we used to take to four paws has passed away....we now have 2 puppies and I would never take them there. We didn't shop around when we moved to the area...had we done that we would have NEVER selected this boarding facility.

I used to work there and I would NOT recommend their service. The manager wouldn't even leave her pets there when going on vacation. They over charge for the service pets receive. Some of the employees wouldn't give all pets equal attention, leave filth in their kennels, mix dogs that don't matched up(old with young, small with big), miss medicate, and some have lost dogs(which have all been found). They have two levels to the kennel. They don't let you see that during tour. The kennels are a lot smaller and it really really hot up there.

As the name indiates it sure is a resort for pets.We had to leave our pet for 3 days when we had to take an emergency trip.Though it was a bit pricey the place looked very hygienic and all the pets looked clean and well taken care of.Even our pet looked happy and clean when we went to pick her up.

PROS: Nice
CONS: Little costly

We boarded our dog there once when we could not get her into another kennel. They are a little more pricey, but the place was clean and well run. The animals appeared to be well taken care of and the staff seemed to really like animals. You could pay extra for social time for your dog or to have your dog walked.
