.

On my way out of town, I stopped at SA to put my last $50 in my gas tank (this was a Tue., my pay day was Thur.). The clerk screwed up which pump I was on, but allowed me to pump $15 before stopping the pump. They then refunded the money to my card and tried to run it through again. Of course it was declined because it takes 2-3 days to get the money back into the account. They said I could come pay the $15 later (so generous), but there was nothing they could do about the other $30 I was supposed to have. I was told I would have to wait until 7am the following morning to speak with a manager. I called at 8am the following morning and the manager said there was nothing she could do. I said that was unacceptable. She said she would take my name and phone number and call me back in a few minutes. 2.5 hours later, I called SA again and was told the manager was out of the store at a meeting for the rest of the day. I contacted SA corporate offices and was juggled between different people and the credit processing department (VM, no return phone call). All I was offered was to file a claim, after which I would be notified by mail! I finally insisted on speaking with a supervisor who, hesitantly, offered to contact the district manager of this store. I said I wanted a call back in minutes. 25 minutes later, she called me back and said she couldn't get a hold of the guy. I said call the person above him. She said she couldn't. I said I wanted a time frame as this was seriously inconvenient and I was supposed to have left town already. She apologized but insisted she would contact me when she heard from someone. I asked if this was the first time this had happened because there ought to be protocol for it, she said it was the first time she'd heard of something like this. I asked what would have happened if I didn't live in the city?? No response to that. SA has lost this 10-years-loyal, SUV-owning, 25-mile-a-day commuter!
