I previously went to a church on 4th st in Duluth and it was really out of whack. People were leaving in the middle of the night and the people going there were stabbing each other in the back. I went here and it was like going from black and white to color. It was a night and day difference. I very professionally run church. My favorite church when I lived in Duluth. No church politics, just come and enjoy the Lord. If I were back in duluth I would go to this church and never leave.

This is the most blatantly unchristian church I have ever seen. The pastors stand and act holy, preach from the Bible, and then act as worldy and sinful, no more sinful than most non church going person. They have signs on the back fences that they sold advertising space on. The run a for profit daycare out of the church. They charge for sermon Cd's, the Pastor's book is for sale as you walk in. Clearly violating scripture, "Do not make My Fathers house a house of merchandise". If that isn't enough, during the last play they put on they changed the characters of the Bible around to "Jazz" up the play, making Barabass a Christ sympathizer and pondering what Christ did for him. Found no where in the Bible but okay for them to add. Stay away from this church if you really want to know Christ and what he did, and how to follow him.

Pros: none

Cons: Deceiving people into think they are saved

In a time of chaos and confusion, Hermantown Community Church has proven to be grounded firmly on the Word of God. Throughout my years I have seen many waves of thought crash through Chritianity. In spite of the numerous "latest and greatest" ideas, This church remains Biblically sound, loving God and others as Christ has called us to do, while challenging believers to grow exhibiting more of Jesus and less of themselves. The church believes and teaches the Bible! This is a place to find Christ, a place to belong,a place to grow and a place that quickly becomes family. I have seen members act justly, love mercy and walk humbly before their God. Refreshing!

The latest production put on for this easter season by the folks at Hermantown Community Church was "The New passion Play". A depiction of the events surrounding and a drama portraying Christ's crucifixion. In their "New" version of it, the music pastor rewrote Barabbas in a sympathetic role. Barabbas narrates the story from his prison cell, telling of Christ's miracles, and in the last scene of the play he's left talking with one of the disciples about what Christ did for him in a repentant tone. No where is this found in scripture. Barabbas was the epitomy of evil, unrepentant and the crowd (world) chose him over Christ. To change Barabbas' image changes this message in the account, and is what God warned about, adding to or taking away from his word. To bad many have now been exposed to this apostasy.

Pros: Nice Building, fun activities

Cons: Teaches things not found in the Bible

I have had the pleasure of attending this church for many years. It is a fantastic church to bring your family and kids. Tons of activities for children, families, singles etc. The music is very contemporary and engaging and the sermons are directly biblical based. Every person in a leadership position has a passionate and very evident relationship with the Lord and it shows in their character and demeanor.

Bible based sermons, cross referenced. Messages are great and the pastor is a good speaker and keeps our attention. Personally for me - realllllly long songs, too many announcements and start up stuff it gets to be a realllllly long time to sit by the end.

Pros: Bible based (& cross referenced) sermons

Cons: almost 2 hours - too much time on start up/announcements

When you walk in, notice the pastors book for sale and copies of past sermons for sale on the counter. Or ask about enrolling your child in the for-profit daycare run out of the church building during the week. If that isn't enough, walk around back and look at the advertising signs they sold on the baseball diamond they built, all tax exempt as part of the church. Now ask the pastors how Jesus felt about these sorts of things in John 2:16. Even a child can tell that these acts are unbiblical. Repent

Pros: Lazy Christians love it, no commitment

Cons: On the wide road to hell

As a christian I would warn any brethern about attending this "Church". The senior pastor is viewed as god here, what he says is law. They even sold advertising space on God's property, and because he has his followers so brainwashed, they went along. If you raise any concerns about what he is doing, they punish you by not letting you participate and serve in anyway at the "church". Very cultish, he preaches usually a good seemingly scriptual sermon on sunday morning, but then acts and lives like satan the rest of the week. His salary is a secret, if you question why he lives in a half million dollar (low figure) house on the lake, his followers will come unglued attacking you. Very cultish, the reward and punish system is very indicitive of a cult. I would warn all true christians to avoid this pit because once your dragged in, it is so subtle you don't realize your in it. God Bless
