This place is great. The food is amazing, it is easy to get to, and the staff is very friendly. If you like cornbread, make sure you try Redstone's. Its the best I have ever had. The server that I had was acutally very good as well

My friend and I go to redstone almost every week. Lately the service and food has been terrible. Last week, my friend and I order a banana cream pie to-go. It was basically bananas and whip cream. \r
Today we went and they did not have any

Redstone has great steaks and chops. If you like chocolate martinis, this is the place to go! You may have to wait, but it is worth it.

This place is the El Dorado of the Suburbs. Warm, cozy, not so economical and a bit unpredictable.

I think there's really only one time a year it's a must. Autumn. There's something about sitting outside with the ever-burning fire pits that reminds me of NorthWoods camping. That's when this place really finds its sheik.

The desserts are HUGE, but taste a little "store bought".

The drinks are very, very good, although they seem as if they are poured by a vending machine, so don't think it'll be cheap to get your buzz-on. Think marathon, because it may take that long.

This last visit I got the prawns from the appetizer menu. Executed by a """MASTER CHEF""" no doubt (or so they looked looked)... beautiful. But the first bite revealed the smoke and mirrors. This was nothing more than mediocre jumbo shrimp with a pre-mixed buffalo sauce dressing. Yikes! Money back????

The other dishes were quite good and not as transparent in their execution.

Go.

Westside is thrilled each time Redstone's asks them to perform.

The service is 1st class all the way and the food is yum yum! Our fav is the shrimp app. spicy and good. Well worth it.

Its always packed when we are there - and our fans haven't mentioned it being anything except a wonderful experience.

Pros: They Have Great Bands Every Wednesday

Cons: They only have live music on Wednesday

I have read several of the reviews regarding Redstone. Almost all the negative one's seem to involve long waits to get seated. The restaurant TAKES reservations. Simply call and make one. We were seated promptly and our food was delicious. We were able to have drinks, entrees, and dessert all for around $60.00 which is very, very reasonable compared to similar restaurants around town where we have easily spent $100 plus. I do agree that the wait staff can be over zealous. They tend to stop by one to many times but I will surely take that over not seeing your server for 30 minutes. Overall great food and suprisingly good value.

Redstone has delicious food and great service! The atmosphere is totally worth the price you pay for it! They cook on open flames and a visible chicken rotisserie!

Redstone is changing some; the salads are getting less and less of the more expensive items, i.e. chicken and more towards cheaper ingredients like iceberg. The roasted chicken dinner is great and the flatbreads are also except for less of the main ingredients. Drinks are downtown priced-not good for the suburb dining. Don't too much drink here.
The place will annoy you with overly attentive, pesty, constantly interruptive waitresses pushing more food and drinks- at a business lunch, the staff interrupted our conversation 12 times at least. We don't want to feel like we're at Champps where they push alcohol constantly. Also it's very loud by the kitchen and bar areas especially for conversation.

Overall, I enjoy dining at Redstone, but my rating is based on the delivery of my meal and efforts needed to get it right. Please read on..

I have dined at Redstone in Plymouth on several occasions. My expectations were always high, but delivery consistently missed the mark.

I stopped by for a late lunch (2:30) today (11/11) after shopping at Ridgedale Centre. As usual, the service upon entry was welcoming and pleasant. I decided to dine at the bar and catch up on the latest news. I ordered a low-end glass of Merlot that tasted close to vinegar. I didn?t complain as it was one of the least expensive on the menu ($8). I couldn?t decide between the chili / cornbread combo and the Prime Rib sandwich that was displayed on the Lunch menu. The bar tender suggested the Prime Rib (I suspect because it?s $16). What sold me on the selection was the horseradish cream sauce as I generally enjoy a bit of spice to my meals.

My side selection was mash potatoes. I sipped my wine and after about 5 minutes, my meal was served, with French fries. No problem, this was quickly remedied within 90 seconds. The prime rib was cooked to order (med-well), however, the horseradish cream was extremely bland and the au jus was almost room temperature. I asked the bartender if I could get some pure horseradish to give the cream sauce some flavor and to heat my au jus to a bubbly point. Approx 150 seconds later, my request was satisfied. After polishing-off my meal, I had another Merlot and watched the stock market report on the overhead wide-screen.

Even though I eventually enjoyed my meal, it seemed to be an effort on my part to get it right, especially for the $35 tab (not including tip).

This restaurant has amazing food, atmosphere and service. Whether you are sitting at the bar have a light bite and drinks or ready to enjoy a romantic dinner....this is the place. Don't be surprised by the fancy cars in the parking lot....the rich come here for the same reason you should....GREAT FOOD. The Chicken Tortilla Soup on Tuesday night is delicious. But, you have to try a wedge of cornbread with Maple Butter - TO DIE FOR!!! It's a must on every visit. Their specials are very well priced and two big enough for two to share with a bowl of soup. Drinks can be on the expensive side, but the Berry Stoli Martini is awesome (made with Pineapple infused vodka). The wait staff is attentive and polite! Be aware that it get's busy on Friday and Saturday nights so make reservations or be prepared to wait - it's worth it! There is also a location in Eden Prairie, MN that is just as lovely! Don't be afraid to ask your waiter for menu suggestions. The bar area has some good priced starter options if that's all you are in the mood for.

Pros: Wonderful food and warm atmosphere with fireplaces.

We went for dinner on a Saturday night and got right in. Treasure was our waitress and she really is a treasure! We were thrilled with everything. The service, food and drinks were all top notch. Try the lobster bisque, it's the best I've ever had, but fair warning, you'll be hooked. There were no negatives. Highly recommended.

Bad Customer Service!
Tried to make a reservation by phone and Liz pretty much said "we don't need your business". And maybe they don't. It was for 10 people....they must be doing great.

Yum! I can't stop thinking about the great fondue appetizer I had today at lunch. I have to admit, at first sight I was a little turned off by all of the BMW's and Range Rover's in the parking lot, but that was soon forgotten once I was sitting at my table. I met a friend for lunch and we got in right away - it was 12:00 noon!!! I was very impressed. The food...wow! to die for! I loved it!!! Definately recommended for a business lunch or a fun night out with friends.

Our friends took us there for brunch on a Sunday. Great service and attention from the staff without hovering. All of our dishes tasted wonderful. Were not rushed out after finishing meal as we visited another hour, we upped our tip of course.

I can honestly say the meatloaf was good but maybe that was because everything else we ordered was poor quality. The filets and other steaks we ordered were all poor cuts of meat or not cleaned properly. The side items were bland and the server seemed almost embarrased to serve us the food. I can understand one or two mistakes but 6 out of the 7 people in the party thought the food was poor quality. AVOID THIS PLACE and go accross the street if you want a good steak.

My family and I LOVE the brunch on Sundays. It is served family style (scrambled eggs, hashbowns, sausage, bacon, french toast, etc.) and instead of the typical "all you can eat" buffet, they bring the food to your table (and it is still "all you can eat"). The food is to die for, we really crave it! PLUS they give you a pecan roll (which is fabulous)while you are waiting for your food (like a bread basket). I must admit that I have not had any other meal there except brunch, but I am obsessed. Cost=15/person.

My friends and family really like this restaurant, and I have to agree I really like the ambience, especially outside at night. However, they are very close-minded about different eating habits. My husband asked our server why they didn't have any vegetarian-friendly entrees on their menu and she said that they used to, but they didn't sell enough so they took it off the menu. Very short-sighted of the management not to realize that they don't just lose the vegetarian diners, but every one who dines with them. A group of 12 from my office wanted to go for lunch and I had to ruin it for the whole group and tell them that there was nothing I could eat there. Not allowing reservations is a real pain anyway. No loss for me!

Pricey. I love mashed potatos, especially flavored mashed potatos, but with the smokey roasted chicken with the smokey roasted vegetables in a rich sauce, the potatos just seemed sickening. Redstone is trying too hard. The natural flavors of the dishes were missing. Came in at aroun 5:00 p.m. on Sunday and they were having a waitstaff meeting out in the front of the restaurant. Thought that was a little tacky considering the "upscale" ambiance the restaurant tries so hard to create

I was expecting a more extavagent place. It is almost leaning toward the non-formal crowd with wood booths and tables. The bar is placed in the middle of the building, with smoke drifting into the nonsmoking area. Blah!

I ordered the Mahi Mahi and it was very BLAND. My fish had no flavor but tasted like they haven't cleaned the grill in a year. Skip the fish.

The steak was very tender. Some of the best cuts I've had in most restaurants. If you wear a tie, you are overdressed. Valet parking available. Fish,$20, as the steak, $25+. Drinks run about $5 a glass. We went Friday 6pm and there were no lines. No reservations available. Total bill w/ tip was about $200 for 4. Timberlodge or Outback Steakhouse can compare, for less...

The hour wait is nothing compared to the 2.5 hour wait it was when Redstone opened. It goes to show that in spite of the wait, Redstone is good enough that people continue to eat there. You have to know who is dining to avoid the wait: its the western-suburb Yuppie crowd. So go before 7:00 for dinner or after 12:00 for lunch.

Go to Sunsets, Champps, Maynard's or any of the other summer hot spots and you'll encounter a similar wait. I agree, they should take reservations (which they do during the Holiday season), but you can call ahead to check the wait. The fish is incredible, as are the specials. The servers are excellent and can help you navigate the menu like a pro. So buck up and enjoy Restone or hop over to Ridgedale for a B.K. Whopper if it is speed you seek.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to get a table outside by the fire pit and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences of the year. We both ordered specials that were excellent. The service was very good as well.

However, we had dined at Redstone before and endured a two-hour wait the first time. They estimated about fifty minutes. Service was mediocre that evening and we had sticker shock over the steak prices. Our second experience was more pleasant on a Sunday afternoon before getting busy.

I agree with many of the complaints about this restaurant. The parking situation is terrible, they should take reservations or at least have a reasonable feel for how long the wait is.

Suggestions: Try the specials and fish entrees.

I dined here once. That was enough.

Was told wait would be 45 minutes - turned out to be one hour and fifteen minutes.

Service was atrocious, once seated. Steak was over-priced. Have had much higher quality meals for one third of the price. Their signature mashed potatos were cold.

Why do restaurants refuse to take reservations - so the GREEDY owners can sell a lot of drinks in the bar - at a higher markup than their food. The public should catch on and avoid all McTrendy restaurants like Redstone.

If you have too much money, too much time on your hands and don't have any appreciation of fine food - your table might be ready in an hour.

Definately the Best Ribs in town. Ask for the extra side of sauce, its great, just the right mix of hot and zesty. Another favorite is the combo Chicken and Ribs. I usually get the flatbread pizza (dinner) as an apetizer.

The bar is high priced - but fair compared to the equalivent of the downtown spots. The Martini's are great, and all the drinks are poured directly into the glass. The bartender told me they are tested every day so as the drinks always come out the same.

finally, overall, hotest women in the burbs.

While the wait on some nights is long, the meal always proves to be worth it. The servings are perfect without feeling stuffed. The food is fabulous and no one presents desserts the way they do at Redstone. I also love the cozy feeling, especially in the Fall/Winter

After several visits, the only things that would keep me away in the future are the long waits for a table, and the selection.

The food is all prepared with an eye toward detail, is delicious, and is served professionally. Depending on your server, you may feel a bit pressured to leave as soon as your meal is complete. This is less true here than at the Eden Prairie location.

Everything on the menu is outstanding. The wait staff is excellent.

This place is living proof that we as consumers don't care about quality and value. While I understand it attracts a certain niche of people who just want to be where all the other pretty people are, I don't understand why anyone would wait or go back for this type of experience. It was terrible!

Yes I agree - the food is absolutely outstanding.
The swordfish and the Ahi are probably one of the finest Minnesota has to offer. There's however one major problem with this place - the people. Go here if you

a) just climbed out of the golf cart w/o getting kinks in your polo shirt

b) have enough gold hanging on your body that you would drown when falling into golf ponds

c) want a really spendy place where you can hang with your friends to show them how wealthy you are and how that Rolex looks looks on you

d) Love Valet Parking, especially if the restaurants own parking lot is blocked off for it and you have to walk 1/2 mile if you do not want to pay for it.

e) Have no idea about beer and love fake friendliness

I love the Redstone! The new location in Eden Prairie is unbelievable! The food is excellent, the atmosphere is great, & the staff is always on top of things! It may run a little pricey for some, but if you want to go out for a nice dinner, this is the place to be, or if you're looking for somewhere to chill & a have a couple of cocktails w/ some friends, I recommend the Redstone! Two thumbs up!

I want to comment on the new Redstone in Eden Prairie. I travel to Minneapolis often, have been there several times and I've never been disappointed. The staff is both curteous and knowledgeable. Every time I dine there, at least one of the managers comes to speak to me and make sure everything is ok. The menu is extensive with a good wine list. I don't see how anyone doesn't think it's worth the money! It does get crowded during peak dining hours, but what good place doesn't? Also, the dancing on the weekends is not a thing to miss....even if just for the entertainment value!

I have eaten at the Redstone Grill several times. Their food is fine, although I do agree that it is pricey. However, they do give you hefty portions and almost two meals for the money. We also went there when they lost their electricity, and although we had an hour and a half wait, the staff really worked hard and were very pleasant during the time we waited for our meal.

I agree with the previous ratings about Redstone being over-priced and gregarious in their attempts to up-sell. I just got back from lunch there. For a co-worker and I to have soup and salad it was over $30. Even after we ordered, the waitress still went over the more expensive specials in detail. She was obviously disappointed with our "less-expensive" choices. I can't count how many times we were pushed to order cocktails (even after we told her we were both working today). The caesar was bland but okay. The shrimp/corn chowder was better (thick like a stew). When we were finished, of course we were offered dessert and coffee multiple times. Wouldn't want to miss out on a chance to increase our bill! Food is alright, but instead of a warm feeling, it's like the restaurant version of a clothing store with commission salespeople. You get the hard sell.

Okay, so seeing the BMW and Jaguar parked out front is a little disconcerting. Still, the rustically rich interior and aromatic smells of grilled meat within bespeak that woodsy ambience and hearty meat-and-potato world many Midwesterners…
