I had the salmon, my wife had the jumbo shrimp. I also had their prime rib/vegetable soup which is probably the best soup I have had. Salmon was done just right, hot and flaky. My wife's jumbo shrimp were huge. Great service too!

Casper's was recommended by a member of the Days Inn staff and she nailed it. A short drive or a little longer to walk is worth it to have a meal here. Prices were very reasonable and the food was perfect.

Caspers is a great restaurant for the family Food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Wait staff is incredibly nice and accommodating, even if they aren't serving your table! Overall a great place and I'll definitely be back!

I've never been here for a normal lunch or dinner but I will never suggest this place for a holiday meal. Easter Sunday at Caspers was so horrible I couldn??t wait to get out of the building. The waiting line for the buffet wrapped around itself and through the seating area and for the entire half hour we were there I had people standing over my head coughing and sneezing and just being rude. People actually had the nerve to ask if the chicken was good as they stood over me waiting in line. And then to make it all worse I think there was only three waitresses on that day because it took 21 minutes to get our drinks. People seem to like this place for a normal meal, but I don??t suggest it for a holiday.

Pros: The diet Pepsi was cold

Cons: Cold food, holiday arrangements are horrible

This is my favorite bar in Eagan. The bar is completely separate from the restaurant and takes up the entire barn. Not a bit pretentious, and actually stays open late, unlike most suburban bars. Lots of regulars, pull tabs and huge tvs make this a great place to relax, or to stop in for a night cap before heading home. The late night happy hour features 2-4-1's on everything!

By the way, in response to the negative reviews about the restaurant, I actually think it has a lot of character. Not necessarily a place you'd want to take a first date, but definitely an experience of an old-school steakhouse.

Cons: Food in the bar can be a bit greasy

Always heard good things about this place so decided to give it a try. Food is okay but steaks, seafood are overpriced. Sandwiches (burgers) looked reasonably priced however.
The grounds are not maintained and the interior has not been upgraded since the days dark walnut decor was the "in thing"
The place is a "has been" and needs new management that cares and is willing to start from scratch to bring the place up to what it used to be.

We had a 50th Wedding Anniversary party at the Casper?s Cherokee Sirloin Room in Eagan. We were placed in the hall which was well decorated and there was plenty of room. The food was hot and everyone was pleased with the ribs, chicken, and Au grotten potatoes. The service was excellent, and the food was amazing. We were so impressed with the service, they catered to every need. We definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!

This is probably the most over rated restaurant in the entire southern metro area. The quality and quantity of food you receive for the money is very poor. The service was vertually nonexistant. We had to repeatedly ask for refills on our drinks. We generally very good tippers, but we literally left a $1 tip!!!

They used to be THE place and I went regularly, but in the past 5-10yrs, it has lost it's edge. The food is fine, but the quality/portions and prices are better elsewhere.

If you must go, I'd pass on the Eagan location and go to the St Paul location on Smith.
Eagan is run like a business that just wants to get you in and out and to make money, not to bring back customers.

If you're ever in the mood for a lot of crab, this is the place to go on a wednesday night. Don't fill up on the appetizer bread and salad though. That was my mistake. The crab is the sweetest I have tasted in a long time and it is really easy to crack fast. One of my friends didn't know how to crack crab and our waitress was more than happy to show her. It was fun to watch a "professional" crack crab. I realized I am just as good. I've gone to a couple of wednesdays and the seating is usually close to immediate or else you can just go in the bar and find yourself a place if fifteen minutes is too long to wait and you don't mind a bar atmosphere.

A GROUP OF 4 OF US WOMEN VISITED THERE 2/6/06 AND FOUND THAT THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME EATING THERE. I HAD THE MILLENMIUM STEAK SANDWICH AND THE OTHERS HAD STEAK AND LOBSTER, SHRIMP. MY SALAD WAS CRISP AND FRESH, BAKED POTATO HOT, THE STEAK WAS DELICIOUS MELTED IN MY MOUTH. THE BREAD IS AWESOME HOT AND FRESH. THE SERVICE OVERALL WAS A SLOW BUT THEY ONLY HAD 1 WAITRESS WORKING THE WHOLE BAR. OVERALL I WILL DEFINETLY EAT THERE AGAIN. THE PRICES WERE $11.95 TO $32.95 TYPICAL FOR A GOOD STEAK HOUSE.

The Cherokee Sirloin Room has a birthday promotion for a free meal (steak I think?). All the food I've eaten there has been average. It has an odd atmosphere, dimmly lit and mostly older people (senior citizens). The service is hit or miss, sometimes we've been served promptly, and sometimes we've waited.

Message from Casper's Cherokee of Eagan

We provide 2 different areas of service. The first is our great steak house restaurant serving an extensive menu to our customers. The 2nd is our party barn , bar area that hosts 2 of the largest televisions in the state of minnesota.
