HORRIBLE SERVICE AND FOOD! The delivery was very late (1 whole hour late). It makes you wonder when you look at their menu and you see "We do NOT guarantee our delivery times" (and the not is even underlined), that they must have had so

This is a great neighborhood hang out and good business meeting place. Hospitable and clean. Delicious pizza. Excellent Crust. Convenient parking.

Pros: Pizza

.

I ordered a large deep dish, spinach, chicken, garlic, and ricotta cheese, my favorite. However, when this flat pizza came to my door I was very unhappy, I have been ordering the same pizza for over 2years. I called and talked to the manager-she told me they didnt have deepdish pizzas and I should have ordered the panstyle (2 years later there is a problem with verbage), "The girl who took my order heard me say give me a 14" flat pizza", who asks for a flat pizza, arent they all flat on the bottom or can I get a round one. she also said if I wanted I could simply order and pay for a new one, what a great problem solver. In 10 years I have never told a customer who didnt get what they wanted to simply try and order again. Great food very disappointed with the service.

Pros: Great pizza, Good delivery times

Cons: poor customer service, problem solving, over all satisfaction

Their Double Crust pizza is the best pizza that I have ever tasted. The atmosphere is very casual and the service is usually positive and friendly. The food is moderately priced but it is worth it. You can really save a lot of money if you ask for the specials or coupon prices!! The delivery time and service is comparable with every other pizza place I have tried. I encourage you to dine-in or pick up your food so you get a chance to look at the amazing collection of pictures and memorabilia that cover the walls. Truly a Gem!!!

I just moved to the area from a city with fantastic pizzerias. I thought that a place with such a charming name would have some authentic, old-world pizzeria food. Boy was I wrong. The crust was ok but the cheese and toppings tasted old. The lasagne's sauce was also ok but once again the rest of the ingredients tasted old. Also, they were very skimpy with an essential ingredient to lasagne: ricotta filling. This is the ingredient that separates lasagne from every other dish like spaghetti or baked ziti and it was just not really in this Grampa Tony's dish. Last, the garlic bread had plenty of butter but really no garlic flavor and the bread itself tasted very old. To top it all off, it was pricey: $30 bucks for a regular size lasagne and a large one-topping pie. Never again.

I haven't had tis pie in a few years, so it might have changed, but I ordered once a week for two years, and GT was the best deep dish in town. The only comparison would be Edwardo's, but they weren't nearly as good, and have since closed up shop. Grampa Tony's was the best for delivery -- but delivery takes forever, and you have to let the pie sit before digging in. But the free pint of ice cream (still do that?) made it worthwhile!

Grampa Tony's has by far the best pizza in St Paul. I have been going there for over 15 years and feel that it is completely under rated. The food is fantastic. Here in Minnesota most people think that the Olive Garden serves real Italian food but that is so wrong. Grampa Tony's IS authentic Italian food. My recomendations include the Pizza, (fresh tomato, spinach, ricatta and garlic is my favorite) Lasagna, Mostacholli with Meatballs ( its easier to eat vs Spaghetti) and the Antipasta Salad. Another reason to go to Tony's is their recently remodeled dining room. It is like a mini museum of rock & roll, sports and Hollywood autographs and collectables. Similar to the Hard Rock Cafe. So, if you're driving down Snelling Ave. and want pizza, eat at Grampa Tony's. Hopefully you'll be impressed. I always am, hence why I wrote such a long review. Enjoy!
