Welcome to the dark side of twin cities book stores. With the mood of their radio spots, I was very surprised to be shooed out at 9 PM on a Friday. I would have thought that I could channel spirits until the wee hours here. Inside this friendly goth mecca are the most ridiculous books you will ever peruse, but that's the fun of it. I didn't see a palmist when I was there -- only a college guy with his hand in the back of his girlfriend's pants. It's a laid-back place.

If you're in to astrology, witchcraft, voodoo, ghosts or anything else paranormal this is the book store for you. They've been in dinkytown for years and have a great selection as well as contacts for all the best local experts. There was a psychic or palm-reader giving somebody a reading while I was in the store last time. The offer other items too - wiccan objects, incense, and more.

PROS: Nice variety of subjects
CONS: Parking stinks around here

One of my favorite stops, and everyone I've took there for their first time loved it. Maynard from TOOL buys from Magus, and so does Stevie Knicks. Obviously there's something there for everyone- whether it's spiritual, decorative, a gift, or something new and different. Magus loves to help individuals expand their mental and emotional horizons. Park in the DinkyTown lot behind the store and Magus will validate your parking ticket (up to 1 hour for free).

Everyone likes the shop that you can find everything you are looking for. This is the shop! Here you will find all manner of books - astrology, aromatherapy, spirituality. Everything! It's a great place to peruse.

You can also find all manner of herbs (and they do have a website with very reasonable shipping) and incense.

Roger, the shop-keeper, is a dream and the rest of the staff is fantastic also!!

PROS: You will find it here!
CONS: Parking for the first time. (Make sure and get your parking validated!)
