I am planning a trip to Canada, and wrote to one of Carlson's travel agencies there for assistance with the trip (this was after I could not get through on the phone after three tries). After a week, I had absolutely no response. This irritated me so much that I went to Carlson's main website and wrote an e-mail complaint. I did receive an automated acknowledgement with a promise of a response. It has been five days and I have yet to hear from THEM either.
I don't understand how a company that depends on customers and is service-based can just ignore requests for service and/or customer complaints. I have absolutely no idea how they stay in business when service is not a priority.
I travel a lot, and now refuse to ever use Carlson. It was bad enough to be ignored by the travel agency, but to have no response from corporate just proves that Carlson cares not one whit about getting or retaining customers.

Useless.

During their office hours I would say their service is respectable, although they do not seem very knowledgeable without having to lean on some sort of guide that they often seem to be referring to or referencing.

I've had two emergency changes that have needed to be made so far, and the first time they never picked up the emergency line after calling multiple times and waiting for hours. Additionally, I will note I was stranded. The second time, the woman I spoke to could not comprehend the simple English I was speaking to her. If you do not understand plain speech, in the vernacular of travel, you are not fit to work in this job. Further, CWT should train their people much better.

Again, useless.

Carlson Wagonlit (at least the online portion) is a truly terrible service. It is way too difficult to make modifications even while planning a trip. And they charge you to speak with them on the phone. When renting a car, they don't list non-airport locations- even if you select "Show all pick-up locations" as opposed to "show airport locations." If my company didn't mandate we use Carlson, I would have ditched it long ago. Not worth it. Stay away.

I am forced to use this company since I am a government employee but I would never use them as a private citizen. It appears that they hire people that have either never flown or do not have a clue as to how to operate a computer. I am currently waiting for my second leg of my three flight trip on two different airlines and just watched a flight leave to my final destination on the original airline. They also wasted taxpayer money by booking me on a flight that charged extra for my checked suitecase. Do Not Use.

I lost $200 due to legalistic, rather than customer-friendly, communication on the part of CW. In trying to ascertain the best step forward to change an existing flight, CW informed me I would be better off canceling the flight and re-scheduling directly with the airline, taking a credit. Upon trying to use the credit, I learned I lost $200 and that CW deals in semantics, rather than customer service. Their supervisor repeatedly asserted that on an absolute basis I had been informed of charges, when in fact I had asked at conclusion of the recommended actions if I would still have the full ticket amount credited. If you are an individual planning more travel, do not use this service.

I am currently working with carlson wagonlit travel to buy plane tickets for my family for a trip to South East Asia. This is the first time I've used this agency, and so far, the agent we are working is very friendly and knowledgable and seems to be getting us a good price on our airline tickets. I have found out that they offer wholesale tickets for various airlines (mostly to asia) as well as offer tour packages all over north and south east asia. Even though they are wholesale, prices are cheaper but not a whole lot cheaper. Still, they were able to beat out other agencies that we normally through.

I was in here recently looking for info on a trip to Mexico. The agent who helped me was wonderful! I gave the agent several possible travel dates and she was able to get us several different prices and was willing to try and find us the best deal. I did not feel pressured at all; she gave me several booklets and offered several personal recommendations of hotels that she has stayed at. When it comes time to book our trip, this is the agency that I will use!

PROS: no pressure sales
CONS:
