SELL CHEAP TRASH. ITS HARD TO ASSEMBLE TRASH!

Pros: NONE

Cons: MUST ASSEMBLE TRASH

Great Environment! Unique design and store layout... The design of the store try's to keep the shopper inside as long as possible and distract you from your orignal purchase ideas. Don't be tempted by the endless glitter of junk, and stick to what you came for. Service is non-existant and some items require that you seek an attendant, but there are none to be found! Prices are OK, it's very tough to find a deal. Selection is wonderful considering there's 3 huge floors of interior products. Some of the products you can't find anywhere, and the looks are very modern and similar to american retro 50's. The cafeteria is worth checking out... meatballs and potatoes are both tasty and good value. It's not the type of store you'll be in and out... expect to stay for about 3 hours to make it enjoyable and if possible avoid the weekend crowds.

This Ikea store by the Mall of Americas was so much fun to go into. It was our first time to one. We didn't know it had a place to buy food. We shopped some and then sat down to eat. The shopping was really fun to get ideas, but the food was super cheap. I think is was $2 for breakfast. I'll go again!

This is a great place for everyone. Very, very affordable yet classy furniture. We bought a table and six wooden chairs for $400, including the delivery charge!

you can find some excellent furniture for excellent prices here. A massive store with most items laid out in display rooms, plan on spending at least an hour or two if you want to see everything. Their products for the kitchen(glasses, diningware, etc. ) are quite nice for the low low prices.

Ikea is unique. You'll either love it or hate it. Here's my advice if you want to shop at Ikea:

1st -- get there half an hour before they open. Their restaurant opens before the store does. Treat yourself to the best $1.99 breakfast you'll ever have. It's cafeteria style, so you have to go through the line with your tray, but the food is great. And you can't beat the price.

2nd -- take one of their maps of the store and USE it. They have the store set up where you almost (but not quite) have to go through every department. It's kind of a big one way street that meanders back and forth throughout the building. There are marked ways to skip sections, though, so you don't HAVE to look at kitchen cabinets if you don't want to. Still, it's not like a traditional store. As long as you're prepared for that, it's really not a problem to deal with.

3rd -- double check everything that you want to buy to be sure you really want to assemble it yourself. Practically everything requires assembly. At first I thought this was stupid, but then I read their explanation that if they pack things flat (therefore requiring assembly), they can fit more on the shipping trucks, and thereby save money and energy on shipping costs. Good for the wallet AND the environment. Just be aware of this before you purchase.

4th -- really set aside some time for this, especially on your first visit. Don't expect to run in, look at computer desks, and run out. That's not realistic here.

5th -- Have fun!

Ikea is truly a fun shopping experience! Here's what I all love about IKEA:

* I love the way they have little children nooks spread out all over the store.

* The cafeteria has fresh, different foods to choose from - and it's CHEAP! There's also a play area in the cafeteria (of course!)

* The staff is friendly

* Fun products at a very very reasonable price

The prices are not as good as it seems. If you want a piece with features, the prices go up a lot. Everything needs to be put together. Store was crowded and noisy - hard to get around in. Furniture is not nice quality. Only a very modern style.
