As I see it looks like nobody has been there recently. The food is fresh not frozen, quality food and they have good portions of food also. The service is great!! anytime you go in there is someone right there to greet you and ask hows your day going there very friendly. The stores are always clean And the frozen yogurt they have is to die for and for a good price to all and all its a great place to go to !!!!

I find Leann Chin's to be overpriced for the food you get. There are better chinese restaurants that are cheaper. There is to few choices for one who does not eat pork or beef.

Im not surprised by the popularity of Leann Chin's with the fast food mentality on the rise and the prices are cheap. I am extremely suprised that it made the top 10 Chinese restaurants. Given the ratings are based on more than food but this is very misleading to anyone visiting that is not familiar with the Leann Chin chain. I would feel very sorry for the person that is looking for some great Chinese food and winds up going to city search and sees Leann Chin's a top pick and takes the family for what they thought was going to be a wonderful Chinese dining experience, with all of the wonderful Chinese/Asian restaurants in the twin Cities area it would be a shame to spend hard earned money on Leann Chins.

Pros: Fast, Inexpensive

Cons: Poor Food Quality

.

Leann Chin's food is resonably good. But, to consider this as "real" Chinese food misses the mark. If you like Leann's food, you will find the "real stuff" to be quite odd.

The few times I have gone to a LAC's, service has been more of an afterthought rather than a "customer comes first" as it should be. The portions were decent but overpriced compared to what you normally get at a good restaurant. The quality of LAC food is not a whole lot better than an expensive frozen food in your local grocer's frozen section! My vote goes to Hope's Chinese Restaurant on Central Ave in Fridley. The service is very good--the all you can eat buffet and even individual servings are excellent! Try this out of the way spot and you won't be sorry, unless, of course, you are partial to microwaved food!

I almost cried when I saw Leann Chin's take first place on this list. The food has been Americanized so much it isn't even Chinese food anymore. There are places infinitely better for Chinese food. A few places I would recomend looking up would be New Hong Kong Kitchen, Peking Garden or the best of all- David Fong's. Food, service, atmosphere and etc. are all excellent at these restaurants. Mc Donnald's is to American Food as Leann Chin's is to Chinese Food. Treat yourself for some great food and ditch Leann Chin's.

Cons: awful food, not Chinese

the restaurant is fast and clean but certainly not friendly. The food quality has gone down in the last 3 years. They quite offering shrimp toast and their oyster wings are way too salty. I like the cafeteria style service and it's a good place if you have alot of people on an outing. But they need to work on the price and the quality of the food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like most restaurants in the Twin Cities area, this chain has become too Americanized. It is like comparing the restaurants in NYC's Little Italy to Olive Garden.

Leann Chin consistently serves good food, but it's not authentic Chinese. The times when they've added REAL chinese items, they seem to disappear from the menu quickly, apparently from lack of interest from a nondiscerning public. Perhaps if more Twincitians dared to venture to the real chinese restaurants, they'd realize the difference. Next time you're in NYC, LA or San Fran, be adventurous, you won't regret it!

LEANN CHIN IS THE MOST NASTY CHINESE FOOD IN THE WORLD, BAR NONE!

THE ONLY REASON IT KEEPS GETTING RATED THE MOST POPULAR BY PEOPLE IN THE TWIN CITIES IS BECAUSE IT WAS THE ONLY CHINESE FOOD AROUND FOR YEARS. THESE PEOPLE GREW UP ON THE STUFF AND USE IT TO COMPARE TO ALL OTHER CHINESE FOOD.

IF YOUR NOT FROM AROUND HERE, DON'T BOTHER WITH LEANN CHIN.

IF YOU ARE FROM AROUND HERE...SORRY TO BE THE ONE TO TELL YOU ALL THIS AND, MAYBE IGNORANCE IS BLISS BUT, THERE'S SO MUCH MORE TO LIFE THAN LEANN CHIN AND KIKADES.

too big to keep the consitency of food quality. Timing is the key to eat at any restaurant with their food on steam tables. If you live around by Apple Valley area. I have a great restaurant to recommend. "Eggroll King" in Target Shopping Center. You will be seeing your cook cooking your fresh, tasty Chinese food right in front of you. The price is great too.

Leeann Chin is not the best when it comes to Chinese food. While their selections do taste good, I have found that their food is nothing special and quite "Americanized". I find that most 'hole in the wall' and small family run Chinese restaurants around the Twin Cities offer more selection and by far more authentic Chinese dishes (and flavor) than Leeann Chin could ever begin to offer. I also find their prices to be on the high side, for what you get. Try House of Wu in Burnsville- much better!

Leann Chin is to authentic Chinese as Taco Bell is to authentic Mexican. Sure, it's cheap, and there are restaurants in most suburban shopping areas, and most Byerlies as well, but the food is suitable for your Chinese cravings only when money is tight and/or you're unwilling to look around for places like Hong Kong Noodle, Grand Shanghai and Rainbow Cafe.

A good way to judge a Chinese restaurant is how many Chinese people you see eating there. Ask yourself this: when was the last time you saw a Chinese person eating at Leeann Chin's?

Oh, please. I've had better dentist visits than eating this food. It's not fresh, which equals soggy and unappealing. I'd recommend Great Mandarin in the Eden Prairie Center. Now that's a Chinese Restaurant, and it didn't even make the Top 10! Even the take-out is phenomenal. Try it and become addicted.

Come on - Leann Chin's? We're talking about a fast-food buffet with chewy sesame chicken heated under hot lamps. Yes, it is pretty decent food, especially for a quick grab lunch while at work, but number one on the top ten list? NO WAY!!!!

Leann Chin Restaurant (in any format - the glamorous multi-course affairs along with the quick eat-in or take out places) used to be my most favorite Chinese Restaurant. NO LONGER . . . Their quality in all restaurants has sunk. Food is tastless, always overcooked and/or burned. I adored the cream cheese puffs - they are now almost unedible, tough blobs with tastless filling. Too bad for me and for Leann Chin organization. Only good thing is that there is often no waiting in line for a meal!

It seems the majority of us are not clued in as to what's Chinese and what's not. Which may explain why Leann Chin is going to win "Best Chinese" this year. Joints like this and PF Chang's and Chino Latino are not Chinese food. Is General Mills Chinese? I'm sure they're not. Neither is Leann Chin because they're the same co.

What's chinese about Leann Chin?

Either you love it...or you hate it. I hate it. None of the kitchens are consistent...though they all follow the same recipe. It's not worth going to. I'd stick with the mom and pop places. Though they may cater to the "American" palate...at least it's a little more authentic.

Pros: FAST, All over town

No matter how many times I try various Leeann Chin locations, I keep promising myself I won't go back. If the greasy, heat-lamp tortured food where not so overpriced, it would be slightly more tolerable. You are better off finding the local "hole in the wall" and taking your chances.

Just because it's a chain, doesn't make it good. I'm not sure why people think that it does.
