I am the same person for the comment above and using the different user name (I have forgotten the password of my email). Just to make sure this is the same person as "sfsdfw". I am writing this today again because I wanted to make sure about the comment that I have made ' real good time'. This does not imply to any sexual comment what it means is showing around store, trying different things on and just hang. They do have a patio in front of the store for people to hang out to create the very friendly atmosphere. So, I did not mean to come across sounded like standoffish. The customer service was really good. They may be watch out a bit with being too friendly (so I thought) or it may be that I am not used to that as I am new to the scenes /style. I did not want to make any derogatory comment or judge anyone when I get judged everyday for being gay myself. This is a great store to go especially this contributes to GLBT and HIV/AIDS. I want this store to be successful 100%. I would still rate this 4/5 like I did yesterday. I would go there anytime if I need something.

Well, I don't normally write reviews though this one was quiet interesting. This is my first time going to a leather store actually to buy something. The staff were great and very friendly. I tried few things on and they weren't my size and end up buying someother stuff and CS was great to that regard. What was a bit surprising to me was that one of the staffs made a comment touching my 'pepe' saying some jokes about it. I thought that was too frinedly or should I say very bold, it was flattering to be honest but what was very surprising to get a inviation for 'real good time'. He wanted me to meet at the store at 4 pm. Obivously, I did not go but very surprised to that behavior. I was being nice to him/them but this is my first time in leather store and did not certainly expect that. May be thats what they needs to watch out a bit other than that good CS but my suggestion would be don't be too friendly and watch out the things between CS,Flattering and crossing the line. May be I am too naive to these but still... Good to see small business are running in mpls.

Pros: Good customer service - CS

Cons: Watch out for being too friendly or bold

I was referred to this place by a friend of mine who shops there all the time. It was my first time in a store like this, but the guy working was friendly and let me shop without badgering me.
I tried some things on, and they didn't have the size I needed, so they ordered it.
When it came, it was exactly right. And on time.
Supporting local business is important to me, and I will definitely shop there again.

Pros: cool stuff you can't get anywhere else

Cons: small shop, low inventory

As I understand, the Cockpit Project has been sold to a corporation. While I agree with the comments about customer service, I recently visited the store only to find out that the clerk in question will not be joining. Also, my only real problem with the store, the hours of operation...are going to be extended to 7 days a week. I hope to see some changes and a larger selection. We really need a store that caters to the leather/fetish community and the word I received is that the new owners intend on making this a world-class operation. I guess time will tell. BTW, I hear one of the owners is from San Francisco, now that has gotta be a bonus!

I purchased a pair of chaps and the sales associate said the alterations would be done in a week. As I was out of town, I could not pick the chaps up until 3 weeks later. The same sales associate/tailor was in the store when I came in 3 weeks later and he told me the chaps were not ready but he could have the chaps ready the next day. I called the store the next day to see if they were ready-the same sales associate said they weren't ready, but to give him an hour and they would be. I could not make it to the store that day. I came into the store 5 days later and a different sales associate said they had not been altered. I was a bit upset because I live outside of Minneapolis and have to make a special trip into the cities. The sales associate said I could talk to the manager who was in their sister shop down the street. I went over to the other shop. The manager basically said it was not his problem and I would have to talk to the original sales associate. He said he had his own alteration projects to worry about. I had to convince the manager to take down my name and number and talk to the sales associate. He seemed pretty reluctant. Customer service is not a premium at this store. No wonder there is not a larger leather community in Minneapolis. Why buy here when the manager and the sales associate don't seem to care? I am giving the store one more day to make it right...hopefully, my experience tomorrow will be better.
