Practical Goods is very well organized and Wendy (the owner) knows where everything is. There is no junk in this store! Only natural fiber apparel, quality housewares and assorted vintage items. The owner, Wendy, knows where everything is

The owner has a great sense of color--you can visit just to feast your eyes. There's a rainbow of wool blankets and of children's boots. You might find a treasure from your memories at Grandma's. There's little, if any, plastic or polyester--just naturals like cotton, leather, silk, glass, china, tools, pans, and many beautiful wooden items.

This is a great store for bargain hunting but don't make the mistake of trying to barter. The owner takes great offense at this and points you to a little sign on the wall that lets you know that it is not an option. I found her to be a bit intimidating and unfriendly but if you can overlook that, you might find some treasures here.

Practical goods has a ton of different items you can buy. I went in to get a belt one day (they had them in ten different colors), and was amazed by the content of the store. It's all used, but true to it's name, the stuff being sold is all useful. Dishes, pots, belts, tools, candle holders; everything you need to outfit a wagon for the oregon trail. Prices are very good.
