The food and drinks are okay. The memorabilia is fun to look at for a few minutes. I didn't have an awful experience, but I certainly didn't have a memorable one. For the price, you could find a nice neighborhood joint and get good food.

I put my group of 12 on the list ahead of time, using the online "PX" system. This was to put our names on the list, NOT a reservation. We were late getting to the restaurant, as our names were put down for 3:40 pm and we came in at 4:15 pm. When I spoke with the hostess I told her our situation, apologized, and asked if we could still be seated or not. The hostess replied "that was like an hour ago" and stormed off. She did not tell me if we would be getting a table or not and did not accept my apology. Needless to say we were a little surprised. We waited around and finally the hostess returned and said to follow her. She did take us to a table, but when I said "we really appreciate this" she rolled her eyes at me and stormed off again. We did have excellent service from our waitress and the food was surprisingly good, however the hostess was too much. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on this place, when there are so many other places that have good food and a NICE Host staff.

Pros: ambience, staff, music

Cons: loud, busy

The worst service I have ever experienced.

Probably fun for partying on a weekend or after work drinks, but not the place to have dinner. The service was terrible. The prices were extreme. Did I mention the service was terrible? Don't try the Rock Hard brownie sundae (not Hard Rock -- ROCK HARD).

I can't believe that so many people are complaining about having to wait. What were you expecting? It is kinda' famous you know!! Is it worth the wait, depends on what you want. I'm very surprised to have liked this place, in fact I went in thinking "just another tourist trap". I've been back 4 times since the very first week in 2002. The foods just standard burger fare, could get food just as good in any burger joint. (Don't pay extra for onion rings, they're just so-so.) What makes it fun is the "experience". Don't go just for the food, or just for the rock and roll items, go for a bit of both.

The atmosphere was OK. The Rock and Roll memorabilia was interesting! There are a lot of flat screen TV's playing constant videos. Live music would be much more interesting, than just viewing the MTV videos! The food was pretty bad. My appetizer tasted like it came directly out of a frozen food box, and was not even hot. You'd think they would at least do a decent burger, but my daughter thought it was pretty tasteless. To top the experience, the waiter seemed to think that he must become our friend to earn a decent tip. He was so intrusive, I thought he was going to shove his way into our booth. I would have increased his tip, simply to make him go away! All in all a pretty dismal dining experience.

This was without a doubt the poorest quality food in the entire downtown Minneapolis area. It was my second visit. The first was shortly after the opening. The food and service were awful then, but I thought that just may be due to the fact it was the first week after opening. I was wrong. 3 months later and the experience is the same. Terrible food, marginal service. By far the most disappointing part of the visit was the food. Everything came out remarkably fast, but oddly, it was all cold. And of very poor quality. To top it off, the beer seemed watered down too. All in all the worst $75 spent on entertainment all year.

This is the smallest Hard Rock I've ever been to and I've visited a handful. Don't bother to go with a large party, such as a birthday group, because they have only one room with which to accommodate large groups, and with my party of 10 they would not take a reservation. The rock memorabilia is minimal and you could probably purchase just as much yourself on an internet auction site. Drinks are drinks, you can get them at any downtown MPLS bar and the Hard Rock's food is typical sandwich/burger fare; definitely nothing special there. Unfortunately, the big guitar on the outside of the building makes it look like it's going to be a big, hip, cool place to visit. Don't be fooled. Instead, go to any of the other numerous downtown bar/restaurants that are well established and have been happily serving Twin Citians for years.

My boyfriend and I went downtown to check out the new Hard Rock Cafe and when we got there I absolutly loved the look on the outside of the resturaunt. But when got to the door we had to pay a cover just to enter the place because they had a band there, but all we wanted to do is eat dinner. So we went to add our name to the list to be seated and the wait was 2 1/2 hours long. So we left and we didn't get reinbursed for the door cover. I think that is rediculus. Plus the place is really small and doesn't have a lot of tables for eating. The bar was also really small.

Very cool Hard Rock smaller then typical of other Hard Rocks but very very cool. Music is great, and so is the food.

After a recent football game - decided to walk down to the Hard Rock Cafe. I've been to several Hard Rock's throughout the country/world and this one has NOTHING to show! It was a Sunday night and the place was lit up like a operating room - it was SO bright in there. Though we were there for only one drink, we did not hear a single song - it's a "Hard Rock" don't you think some music should've been playing!?

It was Thursday night. Forty-five minute wait quoted. Nowhere in the bar to stand; took up a post in the gift shop. Tried to look at the memorabilia, but it was just too crowded. Noise level was too high for conversation, so we just ate our meal and watched the video screen. The bacon cheeseburger and the "pig sandwich" are both big and tasty, but was this place ever skimpy on the fries! I'll probably return, but only after this initial hype has calmed down. I also want to know where that elevator in the back hallway goes!

We were told it would be a 2.5 hour wait. We waited at least 3.25 hours and hundreds of dollars in drinks (we had 14 pepole in our party) later, we ended up leaving with no apologies. In fact, the hosts were incredibly rude regarding the whole matter. It was my friend's birthday and their treatment of us ruined it. We ended up at Donavon's instead and had a grand time there. By the way, this is the tiniest Hard Rock I've ever seen!

The first strike against the Hard Rock is that they do not take reservations for lunch. This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine for any restaurant. The second came with the fact that our server, although speedy and friendly, could not keep our orders straight. No one ordered anything out of the ordinary: a lemon with a drink, salad dressing on the side, water, burgers prepared a specific way, etc. This will hopefully improve over time. Third, the food is mediocre at best and waaaaaay over priced, that goes for the drinks, too. The best cheeseburger? Walk one block over to Gluek's and you'll see that you've been fooled. Or try one of the many malt shops around the city. It's a new, yet recognizable face in a city that needs a little more variety so it's worth checking out once. Once.

Minneapolis finally has the perfect cheeseburger. It can be found, amongst amazing ambience, at the Hard Rock Cafe. The wait is long, and the restaurant is cosy, but it's certainly worth it. The staff makes the experience, dancing, singing, and ensuring the fun of each guest. The Hurricaine packs more punch than the the mosh pit thronging the bar - it's proving itself to be the new 'see & be seen' hot spot downtown Minneapolis.

Cons: Large Crowds, Long Waits

The first word that comes to mind is...Disappointment! I was so excited to try out the new Minneapolis Hard Rock-- we arrived at 11:25 and were seated right away, which was a great start. However, 15 minutes later, the server finally showed up and asked "Have I been making you wait a while?" (No apology, of course). He then specifically asked us if we were heading back to work or if we wanted some beers--we said we were going back to work (which was our cue to him to be quick about the service--ha!) The lemonade was frighteninly awful. After another 25 minutes and still no food (40 min. after walking in), we finally decided to walk out, and let them know on our way out why we were leaving. Don't go here unless you have 2 hours to splurge! The experience (and the menu) isn't worth it.

Went to it the first weekend it opened and my expereince there can be summed up in one word...HORRIBLE. I was told the wait would be a mere 45 minutes for a table for four. Well an hour goes by and we're still not seated. So I check in and they tell me just another 25 minutes. Well an half an hour goes by and still nothing. So I check in again and what did they say? You guessed it ANOTHER 25 minutes. Needless to say after waiting over two hours we decided to leave. I must say I was really disappointed in the wait staff. No one was helpful and did not seem to have control over seating people. I would not recommend going here unless you don't mind a two hour wait for marginal food and an ambiance that rivals Champps.
