Went to the emergency room at Methodist for severe ear pain. Didn?t have to wait terribly long. The nurses were very friendly. The doctor came in fairly quickly, did the exam while asking me questions. Took me very seriously and ended up prescribing pain medication and referring me to a specialist. Very professional. Got the prescription at the pharmacy on site but ended up waiting almost a half hour even though no one else was there waiting for a prescription. This was at almost midnight.

When we had to take my son to the ER, I was pleased with the way he was treated. Since he was so young, he was quite upset. I figured we would get yelled at, but everyone was very kind and patient. Thought we had to wait over three hours, isn't that always expected in the ER? Great, kind doctors who understand that waiting can place parents and children in bad moods. Great service.

There aren't enough good words in the English language to describe the care I received at this hospital following surgery. I was always treated with respect. I was always treated like an individual. When a new nurse came on shift, every single one of them came into my room, introduced herself, told me how long she'd be on duty, wrote her name on a board so I could see it from the bed, reminded me how to call for a nurse if I needed one, and asked if there was anything I needed or wanted. I felt so safe and so well taken care of there. When I did call for a nurse, I always got an immediate response. When I had problems with eating part of my meal (clear liquid diets aren't very fun), I was given something else to take its place without being scolded or talked down to. They simply made sure I got proper fluids and proper nutrition without making it difficult. I can't say how much I appreciated them. To top it all off, this was over a holiday weekend, and I know these ladies probably were missing their families. To all of you -- thank you so much for what you do. Please know that you are very much appreciated.

PROS: Heaven-sent!
CONS: Too bad I had to have surgery to experience their care! : -)
