Ive been a member since 2000. Joined the bloomington, mn location. Large pool, nicer facilities. was paying $15 maybe? Now still low at $20.

Well, Bellys sold that location to a car dealership. That should have been a red flag as to things to come.

The other locations are just sh!tty. St Louis Park was rarely updated. It had faster turnover than a person can blink. The floors never were cleaned. The pool was shallow and dark. Something you would see in a Friday the 13th movie. The sauna had boards that were wearing out and dangerous. The 4 tvs were fuzzy sh!t. One played a schitzo looping marketing video for Bellys. There were only 2 stairmasters and one was always broke, the other had a hopping effect. Lighting was horrible. The running track was like running in your bedroom. There were always collisions with people. The paper towel dispenser was always empty. And no water fountain upstairs. maybe people upstairs didnt need to drink water. Bring your own water damnit!!

The Richfield location didnt have a pool or sauna. Small and smelly free weights section.

keep an eye on your Bellys membership as who know how its going to carry over. No letter or email from them about this takeover, so who knows.

Go climb a mountain in Alaska. Would be better for you anyways than staying inside for 2 hours.

They just canned a guy who was having the personal trainer checks made out to him. The IRS was garnishing his wages for unpaid taxes. Good trainer? maybe.. Thief? I would say. Bally's is letting the clients who were screwed by this guy left hanging. The MN AG is investigating. Just another reason to avoid this club like the toxic waste dump it is. The place is a pit.. the sauna decking material is crumbling.. the men??s showers had soap dispensers hanging on by one screw.. the new club manager is a dolt and he does not know how to hire front desk staff.. The list goes on and on..

The reason I joined Bally's was for their low cost. If I would have known what I know today I would have never joined.

The overall cleanliness of the club is what I would expect for only paying $20 a month...not good. I can get over that and the fact the machines are way outdated. Oh and not to mention their "swimming pool" is almost the same size as their hot tub. Which makes it next to impossible to get a work out. I can get over all that, for I did tour the club before I signed up.

What they didn't tell me Is the nightmare it is to cancel your membership.

But first I should tell you why I wanted to cancel. 1) Theft is really high. not only in the club but out in the parking lot. 2) Terrible hours. close at 4pm?!?! wtf. 3)showers. I am perfectly comfortable with my body and showering publicly, but I have never felt so uncomfortable before in my life. I was the only one showering when 3 men came in and completely surrounded me. Seriously...there were 20 open shower heads, they didn't need to completely surround me. One immediately stated talking to me the other wouldn't stop washing his crotch and one was just staring at me. I left immediately and haven't been back since.

I went in to cancel my membership. First they ask me why? so I told him, then he told me he couldn't do anything and that I needed to send a letter to corporate. I'm glad I had to explain my self to him, so he can give me a frickin address. So, I mailed my letter and I thought I was done with it. Until, the next billing cycle comes and I get billed again. So called the number on their website and It tells me that the number is no longer in service. So I called a different number, this time I got a hold of someone. He told me that they hadn't ever received my letter and that since I didn't have any proof their was nothing I can do. Advice to anyone trying to cancel. Send a certified letter, and expect to be billed at least two more times.

There are much better options out there just keep looking.

This has been my primary gym for over three years. It's been recently remodeled, which is a good thing. However, it's still the smallest local Bally's I know of. Hence, the parking lot and interior can be packed. It's so bad, I don't even go there on Monday evenings anymore. The staff is very cool and there is a great variety of machines, but you may find yourself waiting to use them sometimes.

Pros: Good equip. selection, Friendly staff

Cons: , Often crowded

I enjoy going to Bally's, though I did make the mistake of going at 7pm today and it was quite busy, but I still managed to get a machine and a good workout. I've never taken any classes or used the pool so I don't know about those.
