Went to see Jon after having a horrible experience with hair extensions. I was a little nervous, but He made me feel very at ease. And when he was done with my hair, it looked amazing! I'll be a loyal client from now on!

LOVE LOVE JON!!! I have been going to him for everything from hair extensions to root coloring, there's no one like him! His quality of work is the best, he's one of the nicest people that I've ever met and his prices aren't bad either. Jon is the BEST at hair extensions; you'd never guess that is wasn't your real hair. They are beautiful and last a long time (if you take care of them). I think Jon is a wonderful artist, hairstylist and person in general and would highly recommend him to anyone!!!:):)

I'd tried several other salons for hair straightening and nothing worked--Most left my hair even frizzier and more damaged than it was before. Then I found Jon Richards Salon! Jon is the first person who has been able to tame my naturally curly, frizzy, unruly hair (really, it's basically an afro) and leave it looking and feeling straight and silky. I've gone back to Jon about six times now for hair straightening and have been delighted with the result every time! I've since moved to New York, but I make sure to schedule my hair straightening appointments with Jon whenever I'm back in Minnesota -- I wouldn't trust anybody else with my hair! Not only is Jon exceptionally talented, but he also has a wonderful personality and truly listens to what customers ask for. If you're looking to get your hair straightened, give Jon Richards a try! I can honestly say that I was never happy with my hair until I started going to Jon.

I've been going to Jon for almost a year for my lash extensions and they look great! I get complimented everywhere!! It only takes about 15 minutes for him to finish a refill, which I need once every three weeks. I don't need to ever buy mascara, and my little eyes look bigger! The price, service, and quality are all wonderful.\nJust last week I had him straighten my hair! It was the first time I ever had my hair ever chemically treated so I was very nervous. The results....AMAZING! \nMy hair is naturally thick, wavy, and super frizzy in the summer. Since I got my hair treated it is frizz-free! I step out of the shower and am good to go! The best part....I still have the body in my hair! I didn't want poker straight hair... and Jon was able to keep volume in my hair without the frizz and crazy wave.\nI recommend anyone who is interested in lash extensions or getting their hair straightened to go to Jon. He knows what he is doing! \nThis is my first ever review on a website...and I had to write a review on this salon since it is such a great place!

This was my 2nd visit to Jon Richards. The 1st visit was great. Loved the color. This time I was not so lucky. I asked for a few SUBTLE blonde highlights. I came out looking streaked and brassy. I made a comment as to how blonde/brassy it was and he kept telling me that the color was perfect for my skin. I asked if the color would look better outside and he assured me it would. WRONG! I walked into the house and my boyfriend said..wow your hair is streaky. Not what I wanted to hear. I left a voicemail at the salon the next morning asking for a call back and expressing my concerns. This was on April 19th and I still have not received a call back. I think is unexcusable. If a client expresses concern and then calls back, there should definitely be follow up from the salon. I can assure you I will never go back. That next morning I made an appointment at Juut to get the color corrected. The stylist was laughing at how bad the highlights were. Not only the color, but the placement of the foils was terrible and the application of the color was so bad that I had very noticeable roots and it hadn't even been 24 hours. So now, I say farewell to Jon Richards and hello to Juut. At least they know what they are doing and don't operate out of a dumpy one room rented office space.

It is truly rare to meet a stylist with this much talent. Jon has such a great eye for color. He applies color and highlights with such ease and the results are AMAZING!!! In addition his cut and style are always great. Yes, I agree with the review 'Best stylist in town' as I drive almost 2 hours each way for my appointments. Definitely worthwhile. \r\n\r\nPros: Everything-the cut, color, style. Ease of parking and Jon's friendly personality\r\n\r\nCons: None

I have been going to Jon for 20 years. I just got my hair cut last Saturday and it was great again. I always get tons of compliments on my hair. I used to see Jon every 6 weeks when I was working DT full time. Now, I go only a few times a year. Jon cuts so well that my hair grows out great that it always looks good. Jon always asks what we should do and I just say shorter and some layers or sometimes I don't know and just let him cut. I have never had a bad cut! He is so nice and friendly and you will love him! Park free behind the building or go on a Saturday and enjoy DT.

John cut my hair 16 years ago when I worked in DT Mpls..I recently ""found"" him again! Just yesterday I got the best cut I've had in years! \r\n\r\nHe has a gift to know what exactly works for someone...and does it to perfection. I got SO many compliments on my hair last night!\r\n\r\nHe's right in the Thrivent Financial Bldg. and has free parking. It was a snap to get to.

During the Christmas holidays me and a couple of my girlfriends decided we needed a change for the new year so we got eyelash extensions in Atlanta. My husband was shocked that I did this because I am really a conservative person. When I returned to Minnesota my first goal was to find someone who could do the lashes and my wish came true, I went to Jon Richards salon and he not only hooked me up but I look fabulous, if you are looking to enhance your beauty I would definetely go let Jon transform you, he does a great job and is a really super guy. Thanks Jon I will see you again soon!!!\r\n\r\nBJK

Let me just clarify that this review is SPECIFICALLY about lash extensions (LE) I had done at this salon. I have not used their other services, which very well may be their strong suit. While the staff was very pleasant, it comes down to the fact that I'm not paying $300+ for people to be nice to me. I'm paying for an expertly provided service that I can't get anywhere else. \nI happen to be a LE junkie, getting them done every 2 weeks for the past 2 years, until I recently moved to the TC area. I went to JRS because their reviews seemed great. Now I realize that people who reviewed before most likely were just so in awe that they had long lashes for the first time (I've been there!). There are a few problems I had with the application and the main reasons why I will NEVER get my lashes done here again, even though they offer the first touch up free: 1. So FEW lashes were applied. Back home, for $100, I had 80 lashes applied PER EYE. At JRS, I got no more than 30-40 and was charged $300. There was no layering done at all. I didn't look like I had full natural lashes. I looked like I had one row of long, spidery lashes and a few rows of short ones. 2. The glue/lash application, for one was so uneven you could see chunks as if I had flakey mascara all the time! 3. Another issue with the glue was that it was applied unevenly to each hair, and very little at the root of the extension, a BIG problem when the extension shifts and is now laying at an angle horizontally along my other hairs, but I can't pull it out because it's still connected (at the midpoint) to my natural lash. Also a problem when you blink, the root of the ext pokes your eyes and your soft tissue around your eye (double ouch when it hurts to close your eyes and sleep). It also looks horrible when the lashes twist because they're not glued securely and now curl horizontally rather than vertically. 4. He did not take special care to glue each lash individually. On the outer corners of both eyes, a bunch of hairs (5-7) were glued TOGETHER, looking totally weird and actually hurt. BIG problem when one was supposed to fall off (as you lose hair naturally) but it is dangling in my eye because it's a conjoined hair in this cluster. 5. If he would have teased my natural hair with the glue tipped LE, he would have created a stronger glue base and also a little bit of a coat so that when it grew out, the glue line wouldn't show so much. 6. Normally, when I get LE, I lay off doing anything, even moisturizing for 48hrs after (they recommend 24) and then I curl maybe once a week and apply mascara every other day. I COULDN'T even COMB my lashes without them hurting (from being tugged from their awkward clusters) or falling out, let alone curl or coat them. So I left them as natural as I could. And here I am, less than 3 weeks later and NOT A SINGLE LASH IS LEFT! When I first went to JRS, I had not seen my previous LE stylist for 6 weeks, and I still had at least half of my lashes, even though I curled, combed, coated and washed my lashes on a nearly day-to-day basis (NOT recommended but if you're EXTREMELY gentle you can get away with minimal lash loss).\nI'm extremely disappointed with the turn out on such a pricey service. Again the staff was very friendly and polite, and it bums me to write such a bad review but in the end, it's just not worth it to spend SO MUCH for awkward looking lashes. I am still on the hunt for a new LE spot in the TCs, keep your eyes peeled for my user reviews to see if its worth going to or please, fellow LE junkies, throw me a bone! Obviously my standards may be a bit high, but at $300 + tip a pop, they ought to be!\nPS- for other NYC snobs like myself, consider this bargain: I could buy roundtrip airfare to NYC, get my lashes done at Ebenezer, tip the lash stylist AND the masseuse generously and still spend less than $300! Honestly!

Jon Richards Salon is AMAZING! I called to set up an appointment for several services that at another salon would have literally taken all day! Jon was very friendly when I spoke to him on the phone. He answered all of my questions and was seemed very excited for my visit. He gave me a time frame and an approximate cost for the services I requested and was able to schedule me within 4 days of my calling! When I arrived at the salon he was alert and very personable. He completed all of the services in a short amount of time and did a fabulous job! He also gave me tips on hair care for my particular style and a free gift.\r\n\r\nI was very nervous going to a new salon, but he made me feel very comfortable & I intend on being a loyal customer and will definately send him business whenever the opportunity arises. The salon is very clean and professional. He actually cares about his clients. I heard him on a call with a client and he was very thoguhtful & thorough with them. I am so glad that I found this salon. I haven't stopped talking about my experience there.

I visited Jon Richards Salon for Hair and Eyelash extensions. What a great concept! My eyelashes were nearly non-existent and now they are absolutely beautiful. As to my hair . . . what can I say? Long and gorgeous! I've never been able to grow my hair long so what a treat. Needless to say, my husband loved it! Thanks again, Jon. You're the BEST!
