My brother took me to the Willow Gate when I moved from Cloquet to Dinkytown on the UofM Campus in 1998. I have been going there ever since.
The food is amazing, the lunch specials are extremely well priced, but the icing on the cake is my favorite thing at the Willow Gate, the Hot & Sour Soup. I love the stuff, can't get enough. I even sometimes upgrade the size that comes with the lunch special from a cup to a bowl.
The only negative for me is much like the other poster, I now live in Farmington and seldom get to Roseville for lunch. :(
Pros: Great Food, Hot & Sour Soup, Prices
Cons: Closed on Mondays, Only in Roseville
Having A Part here was Great, no more Like AMAZING!
I could afford food for all the guests, and still had money left for dessert.
I absouley Love this place, but really I'm not Lying.
You came here before? I bet you Love it.
You Haven't Been There before? You Better Go There.
You Won't Regret it! :]
Plus with the enconomy declining. It's great a place to be able to eat at a place and still afford.
Pros: Everything!
Cons: The Puny Bathrrom!!
I'm a kind of person who dosen't go out and try new restrurants.
But when my friends took me to Willow Gate. Since they said "It was the best place they ever been too." And since my friends are picky about these things. I had to go.
The waiters were very friendly. There had a vareity of foods to choose from.
The food came, very quickly. [Thank godess, I was straving!]
The first bite I ate, was like anything else I've ever tasted.
All I got to say was "Fantastic!"
Everything here is great. If you haven't tried it yet, then you have to go here.

Pros: Great Food, Great Service.
I absolutely love this place, food is fresh and tasty and their Sesame chicken is my absolute favorite my only complaint is i live in Eagan now!
Cons: Theres only one!
the food is really tasty and the people are friendly. although the regular prices are a little spendy, the lunch specials are great! my husband always orders the lemon chicken, which he really enjoys. great for takeout!
Pros: good lunch specials, tasty food
Cons: regular prices a little high, chintsy place
This place rocks!! Good food, friendly service and great prices!!! I like the lunch menu and they are always adding new dishes to it. Don't waste your time... just go!!!
Pros: Great food, service and prices!!!!
Cons: You'll ruin your appetite (lol)!!!!!
Willow Gate is one of my favorite places for lunch. It's conveniently located, and you can spend anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours here. The food is excellent and the prices are SUPER cheap! I usually get a plate of some stirfry, which comes with fried rice, an egg roll (or wontons), and your choice of soup or salad... all for $5!! And the portions are generous for the price. Hot tea is included also. You can't beat it! The wait staff is efficient, not so personable, but they do their job well. Prices in the evening are a little more expensive, and they also order take-out at a very reasonable price. Overall, highly recommended... You'll be glad you went!
Pros: GREAT value, quick service
Cons: atmosphere
Cheap prices, excellent soups. I'm usually wary of suburban Chinese restaurants, but this place exceeded our expectations.
Perfect place for lunch or a comfy dinner out (we could eat here every day).
Great food in a friendly, comfortable restaraunt. The sesame chicken is addictive. And they have the best chinese soups (try the hot & sour).
The lunch menu has 50 other dishes and even with soup and eggroll, they are under $5. The dinner menu is even bigger and just as reasonably priced.
Pros: Friendly Service, Great Food, Great Prices
Cons: Addictive
The Hot and Sour Soup is the best I have ever had.
Great Food, fast service and good prices.
