I am a frequent customer of ralphs shoe service. I have been going there my whole life it seemd and so did my parents. they have fixed so many things for us. Everything from purses, coats, shoes, and so much more. The most recent thing was

I have been a loyal customer of Ralph's for many years. Recently, I had a zipper on one of my dress boots break, so I brought it in to have it repaired.

Everything was fine until I went to wear the boots and zipped them up--the zipper broke! So, off I went to Ralph's to let them know what happened. When I tried to explain what I had fixed on the boot and what happened, I was TOLD what I had done and not listened to long enough to figure out if there was some sort of miscommunication. I was then yelled at. That was the final straw. I walked out and even as I was walking down the concourse of the mall, I was told "to just get out"! Nice...

Well, I don't just roll over when I'm treated poorly, so I called back from the parking lot to tell this person that he just lost a loyal customer and that I had being going there for 20 years.

Lo and behold, I get a message later on my cell phone. It was this person groveling and backpeddling telling me how sorry he was an that I didn't deserve to be treated that way. Well, buddy...too little, too late! In this economy, you can't afford to treat your customers like that EVER. I will be finding a new place to have my shoes fixed, even if I have to drive an hour to do it!

i left the store crying after the "owner" swore at me and accused me of lying after the further damaged a pair of my shoes. i will never go back.. i would not recommend to anyone. after telling them how unsatisfied i was the fefused a refund of the repair price. i would expect a refund as well as compensation for the shoes they ruined.

I was searching all over the area for a craftsman to make a simple repair. I needed a new zipper on a Moroccan Expedition bag. The first encounter was with a clerk that said they could not replace zippers even though I called in advance to find out if they did and was told yes, bring the item in for evaluation! So I left and returned at a time when they had a different clerk. Clerk number two said it would cost approximately $50.00 (for a zipper replacement!?) I left and brought it back to Chicago with me and had it done at a shoe shop for $20.00 This is a very poor way to conduct business.

This is one of the most poorly run stores I have ever encountered. I spoke with 4 different people over the course of 3 weeks and no one could ever answer my questions or give me a timeline. I paid over $300 for 6 pair of shoes to be dyed, and at every juncture the staff at Ralph's were rude, unhelpful and uninformed. My shoes had been there for 2 weeks before any work was done on them, and that entire time no one would give me an estimated completion time. I will never use this store again and will steer my friends and family clear, as well. I don't always pay attention to these reviews and I have never written one before but this is legitimate - my experience was so awful I became a member solely to write this review. They are cranky, rude, unhelpful, uneducated and completely not worth your time or money.

Very poor customer service at Ralph's. The last two items we brought in for repair were returned with the original problem fixed,but came back with new issues. The first was a heel on my wife's shoe. They replaced the heel tip but in the process they gouged the patent leather on the heel itself. On the second item, they lost the insole of the shoe and proceeded to tell me it never had one. They were incorrect. Needless to say, we will never return to Ralph's for any service. The customer service is very poor, to the point of making the customer feel as if they are inconveniencing the shop by bringing in repair work. We will find a new shop!
