Bobby and Steve's Autoworld service bays are constantly busy and they provide the necessary repairs in a newer, large service bay with ten to fifteen mechanics and lube techs. They have auto detailing, free loaners and provide customers with a large, comfortable customer lounge area with free coffee and TV.

For the most part, your experience is usually good service and timely repairs. However, as former employees and some customers have experienced, not all that glimmers is golden. The motto of Bobby Williams, the founder and CEO of the Bobby and Steve's Chain of stores is "Look sharp, act sharp and be sharp," a common sales motivation slogan used in many industries. Some think its how the service writers sharpen their pencils. As many customers have found out, mechanics are given incentive bonuses for higher sales, extra services and the customer is sometimes confused as to what is necessary or not for their particular vehicle, and the result is often a much higher bill than anticipated.

My experience has taught me that they on average, have overcharged me 30 to 40 percent, over other auto service businesses. This can be directly blamed on the pressure for commissioned mechanics, trying to maximize their monthly incentive bonuses. They are very competent, legitimate and talented auto repair business, but be aware of the repair costs.

So I decided to buy a 1983 Dodge Convertible from a friend of mine. This thing was in excellent condition considering its age. After storing it for the winter of 2007-08, I realized the electric rag top controller had an issue when I pulled it out in the spring. I assumed it was just a fuse, but couldn't find the fuse control panel. I searched the internet for the location and also visited about 8 parts stores. Finally I stopped at Jeff's Bobby & Steve's and a gentleman named Rich found it within about a minute. It was hidden under a panel that had to be removed by screws. He even went as far as to put in a new fuse to test it (which didn't work). He recommended replacing the switch. I did so on my own and now it works. What really impressed me is that after looking and looking for answers, Rich was the only one who could help me, and he did it all for no charge. Though I didn't spend any money that day, I've been bringing my vehicles there ever since.
