This is a great place to learn and refine skills. They offer classes and activities for all ages. More importantly, we get to take time to enjoy the horses, have fun, and not take ourselves so seriously. The owners are not gossipy like

Windy Ridge Ranch is the perfect place to improve your riding abilities. There are also tons of ways to "show off" your talents including fun shows, schooling shows, and when ready, you can compete in the State Fair! Both English and Western riders can have the chance.

This is a great place to learn how to ride. They have a great lesson program with an indoor arena, two outdoor arenas, and many trails and pastures to ride on. This is a unique place that provides opportunities for kids and adults to ride horses without owning their own horses. They participate in many unique activities ranging from fun games in lessons to riding in parades and performing at the Washington Co. Fair and the MN State fair. I highly recommend going here, you will enjoy it!

I began taking lessons at the Windy Ridge Ranch when I was 9 years old and continued riding there until I was in my early teens when I bought my own horse. This is a wonderful barn. There is no better way to begin ones involvement in horses than here. Mark Ward, the owner and instructor has been in the business of riding lessons for over 25 years. Windy Ridge gives you an extremely sound base of both knowledge and practical experience as the barn's lesson string contains a variety of horses. From bomb proof beginner friendly horses to mounts that are more sutiable for the advanced rider, riders will be sure to be matched with a horse suitable for their ablility. Windy Ridge also offers a competitive drill team and one for youth equestrians in addition to a 4H club and leasing program. The person who previously posted stated that the horses aren't in the best shape....I strongly disagree with that statement. All of the horses live in a pasture and anyone who has horses know that horses love to get dirty. They may not have a haircoat that is suitable for the Western Pleasure ring but every horse at Windy Ridge recieves regular exercise, medical and hoof care.

I visited a lesson at windy ridge ranch as i was seeking more and more interest in horses. I would have to say i have never seen a better place. It really is wonderful. All the horses are happy. (a few may bot be in the best shape. but hey.. they have atleast 50 of them.) .Everyone there is so nice. The lessons are well put together. There are different levels. Jr. Beginner(for youger less experienced). Beginner, Advanced Beginner, and intermediat advenced being the highest class. They offer jumping classes as well. Its just beautiful there. It really is. I was welcomed right away by girls and boys who have all been riding there for a while. They were all so nice. The girl I remember the most is Erin Richardson i think her name was. Right away she greeted me with her horse she leased, Cody. They were quite a cute pair. She showed me around a bit and right away I knew i wanted to take lessons there. They have the horses , saddles, helmets, bridles, EVERYTHING supplied for you. You may bring your own tack as well. And over all, Windy Ridge Ranch would have to be the best ranch i have ever seen.
