If there was an option of NO STARS that would be a more accurate rating. This is far from a business. The owner Greg is a TERRIBLE PERSON, that's right, not just a terrible business man, but a TERRIBLE PERSON! It is impossible to simply comment on the business aspects of this establishment, as they DO NOT SERVE the public. Rather, they use their store as a front to run illegal and unethical operations. I am a forgiving person and so despite the fact that I encountered NUMEROUS PROBLEMS at this facility, I continued going back. They have baseball bats and attack dogs (large dogs, easily 100lbs each sporting spiked collars) that greet you upon entering the store---this is a VERY TELLING SIGN. It is likely they have needed those scare tactics due to their absolutely ABHORRENT lack of business ethics--or even personal moral-that has likely offended and enraged MANY MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY. Over 1/2 of the time they would perform a service they would ONLY ACCEPT CASH PAYMENTS OFFERING NO RECEIPT ...in fact, even upon request for a hand written document stating the services and receipt of cash payment, they were VERY RUDE, however finally agreed to provide some chicken scratch on a sheet of copy paper. There is something SUPER SKETCHY about this place and the owner is not only a verbally abusive individual but he is also VERY OBVIOUSLY discriminatory against certain individuals--especially as it pertains to ones who suffer mental health or physical disabilities. If anyone refutes or denies the previously mentioned ask me for the proof and I will willingly supply it--I HAVE A PERSONALIZED LETTER FROM THE OWNER stating his disdain towards individuals with disabilities. I am going to pursue action against this establishment further, but owe it to the public to get the word out that these people do NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS or acknowledgement as being such, they are NOT A BUSINESS!!!!!

I have been doing business with Smith Auto for nearly 8 years. The work done on my 66 British import is always performed to satisfaction. Greg wants the job done right, and one always gets value for money.

This is my first review here. I want people to know that Greg Smith is a standup guy. Don't go in looking for discount work, he charges exactly what he is worth. But if you want great auto repair in Hopkins, he's tops for me. I have been taking my Porsche 914 to him for a couple years now and am always pleased with the results. He loves working on vintage aircooled and watercooled cars and knows racing setups. He talks kinda fast and doesn't come across as having a lot of time, but if you need info and are willing to learn about your car as he explains things you'll finally be happy with a mechanic.
