Nook is Awesome

by Milton D.

All I say is WOW! I lived in the St. Paul area for 12 years and never had a nook burger. a colleague escorted me and 4 others to an experience i will remember for a lifetime. The one hour wait was worth what I consider the best buger I have consumed in my time on this earth. If you live in the St. Paul area and have not visited the nook, do so. If you are in town and need a place to chow down, look up the nook, you will not be dissapointed. Oh, the fries are to die for!

Nooked for life!

Worth the Wait!!

by Dave S.

Although you need to wait for a table, the food is worth it! The burgers are AWESOME! The fried green beans are top notch and the fries are hand cut. Whatever you are looking for in a burger place, The Nook has it! It is worth the time to find a parking place and wait for your table.

Slow service, overcooked food, over-rated...

by Fred H.

The Nook has a strong reputation in the Twin Cities, which is puzzling.

I've found the place to be consistently mediocre at best, and a lunch visit earlier today continued that trend.

Specifically-

1. Being busy & having to wait for a table is understandable. But having two parties (8 people & 3 people) seated AFTER us be served their food well AHEAD of us isn't. We ended up waiting over 30 minutes for 3 burgers.

2. My burger was ordered medium, but arrived cooked beyond well done. The cold fries completed the experience.

3. I politely pointed this out to the server, who explained that it wasn't her fault, but the kitchen's fault. Huh??? (The manager did deduct $2 from the bill, which seems almost petty.)

There are much better places in the Twin Cities for a local neighborhood burger. Matt's Bar in Minneapolis and the new Blue Door Pub in St. Paul are head & shoulders above The Nook.

Awesome food & Staff/Great atmosphere

by Sheila & Michael M.

We are from North Dakota. We saw the Nook on The Food Network with Guy Fieri. My son thought we should check it out the next time we were in the Cities. It was all Guy said it was. We go there every time we are able too. Juicy Nookie and fries are awesome. Worth the trip. A must to check out!

Yummy cheese burgers!

by Jim N.

We also saw this on Food Network and decided to give it a try. We live in Cincinnati Ohio but love to travel, so this past week we went to St. Paul to visit friends and to give this place a try. First off, I drove past the place twice and didn't see it. Parking wasn't easy to find but once in.. oh man was it good. My wife is not a big meat eater and she looked like she was going to lick her plate. She ate the whole thing... She never finishes her meals, also some bread, fixings or fries left.. but not here. We are already looking forward to our next trip!!

Yum

by Will S.

This place is great. I saw it on Food Network with Guy Fieri and I decided to go check it out. It was quite busy at 1:30pm on Sunday. We were put on a waiting list but it didn't take too long. The place is crowded but that shouldn't matter cuz the food is great. We all got the Juicy Nookie and it was worth the wait. It was great. The fries are awesome and are the best I ever had. The service is good and the atmosphere is too. By the time we left... around 3 there was no waiting list so I guess you have to know when to go. Overall: I can't wait to go again.

Amazing

by Carolyn R.

This little place is far too unrecognized. Amazing burgers.. the Juicy Lucy is by far my favorite, but all the other burgers I've tried have been phenomenal too. All I can tell you is plan ahead and get there before their rush. Many times I've walked in and waited to be seated because they were packed, but it is definitely worth the wait. 100% Recommended. The owners are really cool, down-to-earth guys too!

mmmm Juicy Lucy

by Kristin D. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,038

I discovered this Twin Cities favorite here: a cheeseburger with the cheese IN the burger. so bad for you...so good.

At the Nook you can get just about any burger/sandwich you want, and they have a good beer selection, too. You get a tshirt if you finish their Monster burger. I have yet to earn one, but I think I would be in the running.

This place is popular w. softball teams, so expect to wait for a table on summer eves

PROS: food is A1
CONS: crowded!
