I first heard about Zenon from a friend who raved about the classes he took there. So, I decided to check it out for myself. Although $11 is a small price to pay for a class, there was no need. Zenon has an open house twice a year where dancers (and the rest of us who'd like to pretend) can take part in free classes for one day, from hip hop to modern to yoga. (The next open house is Saturday, January 3rd, 2008, from 9 am to 3 pm. Check our their website, www.zenondance.org for a complete schedule of classes.)
My friends and I took the free hip hop class taught by Stephanie Shapso. It only took minutes to work up a sweat. I enjoyed the exercise and being particularly challenged by her instruction (I'm not a dancer!) so much that the hour seemed to fly by. I returned the next week to take another of her classes.
Zenon offers a wide variety of classes and levels of instruction. If you're looking to learn something new, have a great time, and get a wicked amount of exercise, it's the place to be!
