The line at Olive Garden, particularly at dinner time on the weekend, is pretty long. We typically have a 45 minute wait for a table and the restaurant can get very crowded. They do not take reservations, which has been a problem more than once when my family has come to town. I recommend sending someone early to wait for a table if you have a large group (particularly if you have people in your group who can't stand for very long, like my arthritic mother).

If you're looking for a quiet, romantic dinner, you may want to specially request that you're seated in a quieter area. The wait will probably be longer, but I've had two or three nice dinners with my husband overshadowed by a large, loud party dining nearby.

However, when we are seated in an area with mostly two-to-four person tables, I find that the lighting and atmosphere are extremely soothing and I can talk to my husband without having to compete with other people. I always enjoy those nights very much. I'd have to say that Olive Garden at one of their quiet tables has the best intimate atmosphere of any of our usual (affordable) dining haunts.

The service is fine. I haven't had anything remarkable either good or bad to remember, so I consider it satisfactory.

I recommend that you ask who the chef is on a particularly good night, as the food can vary. I remember noting that the alfredo sauce sometimes seemed a little bland (the result of too little parmesan). Sometimes the lemonade is watered down or too strong. I order water now because the lemonade is just too random. (Of course, I don't send things back. Which is probably silly, but I feel uncomfortable sending things back.)

In general, the food is as good as any Olive Garden I've been to. They have on nights and off nights, but I don't go often enough to say exactly when they're on or off.

It's an Olive Garden. You know what you're getting when you walk in, and you know the general pricing. There are more sophisticated Italian places in the area with more consistently good food (i.e. Valentini's) but Olive Garden is comfortably familiar (and cheaper), and going on a good night can be a really great night.

A family of six has to save for some time to afford to go out for nice meal. We accept that. However, when we do go out we like to chose a place that would be expected to have a good kids menu. The only redeeming part of Olive Garden's kids menu is they also get to share in the adults salad and bread sticks. Our 9 year old son had the chicken and pasta and said ""Dad that sauce was not very good... it tasted like a can""

Pros: Service was great

Cons: They gave up on the kids menu

I couldn't disagree with gambeli's review more.... ""Overpriced for what you get."" Seriously? Did you not know about the unlimited salad/soup or breadsticks? I usually don't spend time to write reviews, but my family and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service! Thanks again!

Pros: Lots of good food

Cons: Busy place, I guess everybody enjoys eating there.

This Olive Garden is the only one within 50+ miles of where I live. The service is great, staff is friendly and helpful, and the food was worth the trip. I will definitely be going back when I am in Duluth.

The menue is always fresh and full of variety. The cost is a little high, but it is always worth it. The weekends are busy for dinner, especially on the weekends, so it is worth the effort to get there early, otherwise it will be a 45 to 60 minute wait for a table.

We got quite tired of the Grandma's franchise in Duluth and decided to go a little different, ah ... go figure ... an Olive Garden franchise. Should have known better; an Olive Garden is an Olive Garden. The differences are by location and this location is overpriced for what you get. I've had better value at other locations (in Southern Colorado). The waiter was a bit testy and haughty. Oh, perhaps I should mention the food, well, I zzzzzzzz Better to dream of the deli in the Cub's across the street.

Pros: Beautiful restaurant. SO fancy, tho', I don't feel I can drink my beer from the good crystal

Cons: Help is not helpful, not very nice
