The food is standard bar fare, not great but good and a decent value.

Service is excellent unless they get really packed which you have to expect.

Prices are really good especially when they have specials. You can find them on their webpage. Best time is happy hour when they have two for one drinks.

I also like the feel of the place, it is just really relaxed and def St Paul all around. Lots of cool hockey stuff everywhere.

Guess if you're into hockey this is a big deal with all the photos and jerseys up on the wall. I like how relaxed it is and you can always watch whatever game is on though.

They always have some kind of specials running so its best to check the website or follow them on twitter. I like the wings and try to make 241's on fridays.

There are a lot of sports bars, but none offer the value Tom Reid's does. The food is decent enough but a really good deal for the money. I like to watch games there because there are a lot of fun people, hardly any trouble, and I can grab a bite quickly without spending a fortune.

The drink specials are really great with a lot of two-for-one deals at happy hour and during games.

The walls are a real museum of hockey pictures and stuff like jerseys, sticks, and so on. All the famous hockey players who come through town have come to Reids it looks like.

This sports bar is extremely clean at all times, this is special.

The wings there are unbelievable and are on special for half off every night of the week after 9:00

The drink specials can't be beat, did somebody say 2 for 1's?

The bartenders are pretty much awesome. If you had a problem then you were probably acting like an ass.

In response to the vegetarian, get over it, order the chicken enchiladas without chicken, my girlfriend is a vegetarian and loves them.

Hi!
We recently visited Tom Reids (Feb '10) My vegetarian friend was visiting from out of town and I recommended this bar. We asked for a menu, she brought to my attention that there wasn't any veggie options, so we asked the bartender for our options. Well, he was a complete ass, like we were asking something unheard of. He and the other bartender would look over at us and giggle and service was poor after. So immature and childish and who doesn't have any vegetarian options (except french fries) in the Metro area in 2010? I spoke with the mgr and she seemed sincere but who knows, the childish bartender yelled at us while we were leaving, showing no respect for mgr or employer. Not going back EVER!

I usually go to Tom Reid's during the lunch hour, which they have great wraps. They also have a great lunch salad bar and happy hour. They are packed when there is a Wild game, but again great food and drink specials. I've had slow service a few times though even when it is quiet during the lunch hour.

We stayed at the holiday inn for 5 nighs during the wild and penguins game. We spent 3 nights at this pub. It was GREAT!! We skipped going to any downtown clubs because we enjoyed this place so much!! This is the place to be if you have a love for hockey, great food, wonderful crowd, awesome staff. I cannot say anything bad about this place. It was within walking distance from our hotel/excel energy center. Hey its pretty cool when Tom Reid himself makes his rounds! 5 star and we will be back :)

I volunteered for the EXTREME HOME MAKEOVER project in West St. Paul a couple weeks ago... Tom Rei'ds donated a TON of chili for all the hard workers and it was by far the best chili i have ever had! I have since been in to Reid's twice this week just for the chili!! If you are a chili lover... you have to try it out. Plus, the service was great!

Just thought I would toss this out there. Tom Reid's has a new menu. Yes, I work there. Take it or leave it, the new menu is a lot better. Burger baskets start at 5.95. All the prices have been cut. Give it a shot. By the way, New TV'S.

This is an OK bar the servers are all very slow ugly and ditzy. Most the guys aren't very friendly either. Only two people I would let serve me Josh and Blu Dawhg make great drinks and are friendly otherwise hire some new hot guys and chicks it is really bad here def. not a place to meet people. the food is pretty nasty they should invest in some quality food products and new TV's. I am trying to remember the servers that are really bad shannon? maybe and Tiffany and the fat a$$ bartender so beware of these people there plus the bathrooms are small and croweded and parking is awful.

The food here is NOT GOOD AT ALL. I go here every now and then for their deals on drinks (2-4-1's) is always a bargin but jeeze could they get any worse food. I swear every time I have ordered food here it comes closer and closer to pig slop. For the prices they charge you would think the food could be better quality. The food is only good IF you have to sober up--because it makes you baarf! As far as the staff goes there a only a few guys (who arn't that bad looking) but some of the servers and females could use a upgrade in attitude (and looks!) Only come here if you want to watch desperate ladies hunt for men, laugh, and get really drunk doing it!

This place is awsome. I brought my kids in durring the afternoon after an open skate at the X. Who do we see? Jacques Lamaire, Mario Tremblay, and Mike Ramsey all sitting at a table with Tom Reid himself. They were really nice and my kids got autographs from all of them. Tom really knows how to make people feel welcome. They have the coolest hockey stuff on the walls. The server was great and so was the food. I will be going there whenever I am in Saint Paul.

I was not a fan of this place years ago. Food was crappy and everything seemed overpriced. A friend dragged me in for lunch two weeks ago and dang!... this place has gotten soo much better. You can tell that something has changed because when I went in, about 1:00 in the afternoon, it was busy. The service was good, and so was the soup and salad bar. the soups were actually awsome. I haven't been in at night, but I hear that they are open until 2:00am every day and have really good specials.

Pros: salad bar, specials, hours of operation

Cons: close to the xcel center so sometimes too busy

Overprice, bad service and bad food. Don't waste your time going when there is a bar/restaurant on every corner by the Excel. Bartenders are crabby and the servers are ditsy and slow. There is nothing special about the food there, most of the time it's been sitting there - precooked for hours so they can get it out fast. For the price go somewhere respectable... I suggest McGovern's or the Liffy.

Tom Reid's hockey memorbillia is the only reason anyone should even step foot in this place. We were less than satisified with our service by an unhappy bartender, who's name i believe was Sam. Some of the other male workers there were rude with scowls on their face and looked like they wished they were some where else. The food was below average at best. My buffalo chicken sandwhich tasted like it was not thoroughly thawed out. The over priced beer and drink selection before a hockey game is not that great. If anyone is looking for a good spot to go to before any event at the XCel, I would recommend Eagle Street or Alary's. The bartender mentioned earlier, really runined our night with his attitude and service. If this is how a buisness is operated, there is something truly wrong with the service industry.

Tried it for the very first/only time for a recent Wild game... I'm struggling to come up with any positives. The old North Star memorabilia on the walls is cool--but if you're interested in eating/drinking--save yourself the disappointment of being served what is really surprisingly bad food only to take a gut shot when you get the check from the surly bartender and see what you've been paying for the drinks $$$$ to wash down your crappy $10 hamburger. They obviously only stay in business because of their location close to the X and inhale every dollar out of your wallet they can because of it--since they know if you care AT ALL about things like quality/service/value...you'll never be back. Do yourself a favor... PASS on this place.

My son attended a baseball clinic in the area of the restaurant and we stopped by on a Saturday afternoon.
The service was excellent and the food was your typical sports bar menu. The many hockey items plastered all over the place take you back to Minnesotas rich heritage of hockey, alot of memorable photos of stars of the past.

We also had the pleasure to meet Tom Reid himself as he was sitting in a booth close to us and made the stop all that worth while.

I would highly recommend to anybody who has hockey fever running through veins to check this place out.

I have been going to Reid's now for about 2 years, and wether or not it is hockey season does not matter. This establishment is a great place year round. Not only do they have wonderful specials on drinks and food, but the atmosphere and staff are great and friendly. It is a place "Where everybody knows your name". The ghosts of Hockey past seem to come out of every nook and cranny, and there is an electric energy that envelops the restaurant every fall and winter on game nights. The food is not to bad, I would suggest the Buffalo chicken sandwich, or the buffalo wings! as far as parking it is tough, but well worth it once inside the doors, Welcome to the State of Hockey!

As a new resident to St Paul, I found Tom Reids on a Tues night with 2 for 1 specials. I and my friends have gone to Reids every Tues for nearly a year now- I love this place. On event nights it does get crowded- but what place doesn't. With the addition of 2 for 1 on Friday nights too now (unless its an event night) I have no reason to go too far for fun and great value. Thanks Tom Reid and the entire staff - you're great!

everyone who works in the hospitality business knows that if one has a fetish for sport stars this is the place to go. But if all the hockey ho's/groupies are bothersome and ruin the atmoshpere you shouldn't bother. Service is good. Good place to people watch but not to meet people.

I visit Reid's usually only before and after Wild games. If you're lucky enough to get a table, then your pain decreases a bit. If not, be prepared to have zero space to even stand and take a sip of beer.
Plus the food is flat-out bad. Go here to drink, not eat. I had Teryaki wings and they were absolutely horrible--basically regular chicken wings drowned in an entire bottle of sauce. Nasty. Stick with bottled beer because the taps come in plastic cups and are usually on the warm side. All drinks and food are WAY overpriced, the bar is overcrowded during Xcel events, the bathrooms are small and always blocked by the crowd--but the waitresses and bartenders are usually pretty nice.
Tom--how about some drink specials, eh?

If Tom Reid's is your watering hole for an evening you best bring lots of cash. I recently went to Reids for Happy Hour last Friday. Unfortunately we picked a night with an Xcel event. After paying $10.00 to park in Reid's 10 stall parking lot, I forked out $20.00 for the fist round. (party of 3) $5.75/beer + tips. Now I'm 30 bucks down before I even take a sip of beer and I look at my cheap plastic glass and I was further shocked to see a dreaded green and gold GB PACKER logo. Tommy Reid needs to take a class in Marketing, Geography and customer satisfaction. I and many others I hang out with are Wild season ticket holders. I recommend first timers to order a beer, tour the memorabilia then get out and save some dough for the game. The beers are cheaper at the Xcel.

Tom Reid must have had the inside track on whether or not Norm C. was going to land an NHL franchise. Otherwise he would never have sunk money into this location to push $4.75 dom. tap beers and a 6 item menu that was stolen from Burger King. Apparently Minnesota Wild + Tom Reid's great name = WAY OVERPRICED EVERYTHING and an oblivious Minnesotan's retreat. Oh!! I apologize maybe the eight 25" TV's make that cold beer worth a $5 bill..... then again, MAYBE NOT!! I can secure this quality of viewing at my local Landro-Mat. No blame to Tom, I'm sure Wayne Gretzky has the equivalent in Edmonton, LA......just that personally I would rather not pay Stadium prices for weak coverage in a bum infested area of St. Paul.
