My most recent experience with Alexandria Vet Clinic came after my dog was hit by a car. I was told that they did not expect him to make it though the night. The doctors and techs were amazing. Thankfully he did after spending a couple of days at the clinic; he is currently at home recovering from his injuries. However, when I was given the ok to bring him home I was met with a lack of common courtesy, empathy, and understanding. As one can imagine the bill for his treatment was substantial, for this reason I asked the office manager if it was possible to establish a payment plan or at least a few days to pay in full. In a very rude and short tone I was told that I must pay in full or I would not be taking him home. I understand that my responsibility is to pay for the treatment my dog received, however, I was appalled and surprised at the tone and lack of empathy I was met with. I have been a customer for a couples of years and have always paid upfront. I was very disappointed that after such an emotional experience and knowing what I had just been through they would treat anyone in such an inhumane way. Through this I have began evaluating if this is the best place for my dogs and I
I had occasion to ask Dr. Lukemeyer and staff to crop 3 Great Dane pups...the staff, the entire staff that I met, was a helpful, attentive, VERY CARING group of professionals.
I was asked back into surgery to advise on how I wanted the ears done. The facility was spotless, modern.
I asked if they have their own lab. The reply is that they are state of the art in surgery, full laboratory on site, well equipped veterinary clinic tucked away in Alexandria.
Waiting room was comfortable. Dr and staff were reassuring to me and to my dogs. AND BIG DOG OWNERS: they have a table that lowers all the way to the floor, and weighs your animal.
There is a vet on call for emergencies 24/7.
The PRICES are extremely REASONABLE. (almost 2/3 less than the Twin Cities' price for vaccinations).
I happily and heartily recommend this vet clinic.
I have one complaint: the coffee situation in the waiting room is the pits: hot water, coffee in a bag like tea, no creamer, BLEAH! And there were only 2 bags - for 2 people! Second cup was a watery disgrace.
I am from the Twin Cities and may very well make this my pets' primary vet clinic...yes, it's a drive, but well worth it. I I have every bit of confidence in the staff.
Alexandria vet clinic is a very good place there service is friendly and there very good at what they do. But I do not like there prices they are way to high. The office visit alone is too high. I know were paying for the service but there is no reason it should be that high. I love my pets and want them to get good care but I dont like paying that much for the visit and than more for the actual problem.
