Ordered take out only once. Pad thai was a very dry, spicy mush of noodles. Beef with potatoes should be called Potatoes with beef. Too much crispy potatoes with very little beef pieces. Not surprised the Anoka branch closed.

Just discovered. I've been to Azia, and was very impressed. This is like the "casual version". Love it. Wish it was closer.

If you like Asian food, you will like this place. It is by Erik's bike shop, across the street. If you haven't eaten here you should!

The food is good enough that we keep coming back. But honestly, people that work here are not very professional. And some of their employees are not qualified for the job. It's pathetic.

I have been to this restaurant several times and have also ordered take-out. I find the service to be good. It seems the restauarant is just too busy to keep up. At least during lunch hours. I've never been there for dinner. The food is ingredible. It's very authentic. Not your usual neighborhood chineese place. Last time I was there I had cranberry cream cheece wontons, excellent. ALso vietnamese chow mein with tofu. Absolutely delicious! My husband had the Thai basil stir fry. It was very good. I little too spicey for us though but still very good.

Moved to the neighborhood 2 yrs ago. Found this restaurant and it was easily the best Thai in the cities. This was my failsafe 2 nights a wk. The food is excellent- spring rolls, wontons, and curry dishes are amazing. Also, the staff was very friendly and thorough. However, something has definately changed in the past 2 or 3 months. looks like new mngmnt b/c there is new furniture, new computers, some of the prices have gone up and the staff seems new. The regular staff seems to have all but disappeared(which used to be one of the biggest reasons to visit). The service is horrible now- think 40 minutes late for take out on a monday night. Take out orders are not correct. I've seen people get up and leave without ever getting their food. Bottom line is I'm dissapointed in all the changes and will probably rely on my trusty backups around town. It will be hard to quit the Cranberry Curry cold turkey though.....

As others have stated this place can get extraordinarily busy and the seating is somewhat limited. The waitstaff seems to be very young, fun and hip (not hard on the eyes either).
I've eaten there maybe ten times now, always getting something a little bit different each time. Well, other than the mammoth egg rolls and very tasty cream cheese puffs. Have to get those or it's a waste of a trip. Everything has been either delicious or very good. Their Pork dishes seem to be a little bit off however. The meat has a smoky quality that seems rather out of place. Seafood dishes are generous and tasty, Vegetarian options are slim but anything can be made your way, the chicken dishes seem to shine the most.

We have been searching for great Asian in the West Metro since we moved here four years ago. Our search is over. Thanh Do has amazing Asian cuisine. We especially love the Fried Wontons and the Cranberry Curry. The Create Your Own Stir Fry is excellent as well. They use really fresh ingredients and their sauces are out of this world. While the prices are not cheap, my wife and I are well satisfied sharing one order of wontons and an entree. They do a nice job of making sure your order is correct when you pick it up. So far we've only done takeout, but the dining room looks nice. I only wish they were closer to our house so our weekly trip trip there for takeout would be faster!

Definitely a must visit if you are in the neighborhood! Thanh Do is one of my favorite places to eat and take out of town friends when we want some good Asian food. I was introduced to its amazing food by a friend and now I spread the word about Thanh Do whenever I can. You don't expect much driving up because it's situated next to a dry cleaners and across the street from some run down apartment complexes. The ambiance inside is very cool, however. It's casual to the point where you can wear jeans and a tshirt, but it isn't Perkins by any stretch of the imagination.

I have never been disappointed with the food quality, value, nor presentation. It's very affordable and the portions are huge. My boyfriend and I will order an entree and split one together. Any dish I have ever ordered has been nothing but spice, flavor, and amazing goodness!

I also dig that it's a family run and family owned restaurant. Generally anyone who works there is part of the family...I think that is really amazing. I've had the owner/cook come and fill my water a few times; there is something to be said about that. On the flip side, since it's family run you can experience customer service issues since it's hard to get fired from your own restaurant!! There's one person in particular (I think it's their sister) with whom I was shocked by her lack of service. Otherwise everyone else is pretty great.

Pros: Great food for a great price.

Cons: Too small for its large number of clientel. Waiting is to be expected, particularly during regular meal times. I wish they would expand!!

The food is ridiculously good, but the service is horrible! This comes from the top down. The servers are friendly until there's a problem, at which point they become complete yotches (short for beotches). I won't bore you with all the details, but just know when something doesn't go right (your meal isn't what you expected, you're charged the wrong thing, or the place is really busy) you will pay! I've learned this on numerous occasions. I still eat here but I have learned what to expect from these people.

Thanh Do has great food, although I've only gotten consistently good food when dining in. Take out is inconsistent and even mentioning that your take out wasn't prepared the same way, portion or even mentioning a mixup in your order is met with apathy at best. Don't expect an effort to correct problems.

This doesn't seem to bother people as the restaurant is frequently busy on summer evenings throughout the week. Expect a wait. The environment is mediocre and depending on who you get for service you can have food without a hitch or be waiting. I've ordered with my wife with only a 1/2 full place and waited over 40 minutes for food. It really is great food and worth the wait.

It really seems to just be a neighborhood place to meet with friends and enjoy good food. If you're in a hurry, want personal attention or are hung up on details or service it might not be for you.

had always loved their food and recommended this restaurant to everyone but now I know that everyone should be prepared for a very cold shoulder if there is a problem.I ordered two of my favorites(pad thai and the thai basil with beef) on a wednesday lunch to go.As always the service was friendly but there seemed to be some comotion as there was whispering about who was getting their food and who should have gotten it first and the waitress looked angry and flustered (usually all smiles) When I got home my pad thai was a dry mess of flavorless noodles and my thai basil beef was undercooked and the portion was about half the normal LUNCH size.(it really looked like a messy to go box with the rice and the food all in one container and the sauce leaking out.)I was very surprised and called immeadiately.I asked for the manager and was told "I am"(I don't think this was true) and explained the situation.I was put on hold for a full five minutes and listened to a series of clicks.I hung up thinking I'd call later when whatever the problem was wasn't going on.I called today and spoke to the manager(her voice sounded like the real manager) and got a total denial that anything was wrong wednesday and then she said" What do you want me to do about it?"(important to note pissy tone here) I said "Well something or I'm not coming back" she said "If you're not coming back what does it matter."I then tried again to give her a chance and explained how happy I've been in the past and how good the food has been but that this was a very bad experience. She again said"If you aren't coming back it doesn't matter" I said "wow, this is the worst customer service I've gotten in a very long time" She responds(almost overly cheerful)"Sorry about that." really I am not exagerating when I say I crave this food but it will be a very long time before I set foot in that restaurant again if ever.Even a sincere apology would have been enough to bring me back.Oh well -If I'm not going back it doesn't matter !!! Eater beware! If you do try it ,dining in is your best bet as waitresses are usually savy about customer service .dingel

GREAT FOOD! I love the food here, it's amazing, huge amounts of really great food at a great price. HOWEVER, everytime I go here past 8pm there is always a waitress who begins vacuuming (while talking on her cell) oh round 8:15 or so. When I'm by myself its annoying, but when I'm with a date you cannot be serious! vacuuming while talking on your cell with the restaurant half full on Saturday COME ON!! and I'm not just talking one of those non powered little deals that pick up crumbs quietly, OH NO the full on power up the hoover grandma left us when she passed away vacuum.

This is a favorite place of my husband and I, and also our 13-year-old son. The atmosphere isn't fancy, but it's great nonetheless and always perfect for a special date, meeting friends, or a family dinner. We've tried many different dishes and have never been disappointed. A couple of times the service has been a little slow, but always courteous, and the place does get pretty busy at times. Overall great food with amazing flavor, non-pretentious atmosphere - what more can you ask for?

Slow service when I was there for lunch. Paid with credit card and had a mystery $20 charge appear on my statement in addition to my order. If your going to go here, pay with cash, since they obviously don't have their act together.

Unfortunate since it really does have great food.

We'ev been to Thanhdo umpteen times now! Its a hidden find for us. They have great choice for vegetarians: fresh or fried spring rolls, the eggplant is amazing, and so are their noodle dishes and fried rice. They can make anything vegetarian by susbtituting the meat with tofu or vegetable. The food is just delich!
The dont serve cocktails, just beer. The servers are very friendly and efficient. The ambience is nice. Its always crowded during peak time so wouldnt suggest it for a quiet romantic dinner.

I have yet to be disappointed. I have tried a number of different dishes (I try not to duplicate at least within 2 to 3 visits) and have enjoyed each menu item I've tried. If you like your food spicy or not just let them know. They can modify the spice to your taste.

Parking can be a challenge but don't let that discourage you. It is a popular spot and you'll find that if you keep going you'll see people you've met there before.

This place is great. By no means does it spice down the food to meet timid taste buds. Thanh Do does however let you order your own spice levels, 1 star = mild, 2 star = hot, 3 star = mad hot, and 4 stars = mad crazy hot. Great Service and wonderful people run this place, can't really say anything bad about it, Oh except the parking lot is always crowded.

I can't think of anything my friends and I have had off the menu that hasn't been fabulous. Even better are the special orders that we've put in that come out of the kitchen perfect every time. There is always a daily special (gourmet) and you can always count on standard menu items (including some of the old menu items from the previous owner). The wait staff is perfection. They are always friendly and helpful. If you are stumped as to what to order, they always ask enough questions of you to find out what you're really looking for. They also do a HUGE take-out business.

PROS: Friendly staff, great menu.
CONS: Sometimes not enough seating.

Always a tremendous variety of dishes. Prices are reasonable.

Whether you want a traditional dish, or something that fuses different national tastes - you will leave thinking that this could be the best Asian food that you have ever had.

You can taste how fresh the ingredients are.

Servers are attentive and knowledgeable. How rare is that?

You will be pleased.
