this is one dirty "health" club. if you look down at the rafters [?] as you're walking around the track u can see mothballs, dust, dirt and SPITBALLS! the machines are always waiting to be repaired and i agree most of the equipment is waaaay out of date. overall a pretty gross place with pretty unmotivated staff. it would be nice if the club put SOME $ back into their club. they must have made a quite a bit of jing since they haven't put any new equipment since 1997. not recommended!!!! ** stars out of ***** stars and that's being nice!

My boyfriend and I have memberships and are displeased with the amount of machines out of order. Even the machines that are "fixed" are still falling apart. All of the machines are out dated and over-used. A piece of weight equipment was missing a piece - which meant that if someone went to use it, they could have had the amount of weight they were lifitng fall back onto them. We alerted the front desk, and they told us this problem was "well-known". However, there were no signs not to use it and we saw someone toy with the machine before we left. Next day, no warning sign - no fixing it! Horrible! We have also walked in on front desk eating pizza! Hard to get motivated to work out when you're smelling take out! We will be gone as soon as 18 month membership expires (which should be not so far from today's date!) Don't go to this gym if you like safety, cleanliness or updated equipment! Real dump!

I had a 6 month membership to Midtown and was fairly pleased with it. It seemed expensive, considering I was a student with a membership. But there were usually machines available. I did not receive a tour or anything of that nature, which would have helped welcome me.
