St James Veterinary Clinic

I have been going to this vet for over 10 years and absolutely love them!!! I have had horses, dogs and cats that have all been seen in their clinics. I live in Mankato and drive 35 minutes to get to them, and feel the drive is well worth it. I have tried to go to vets closer to me but they are sooooooo much more expensive and seem to really push unnecessary procedures. I have literally saved thousands of $ in vet bills by going to them. I have family and friends that I have referred to them because they do such a good job. I have called them on a weekend and they were so helpful and told me they didn't think that I should bring my dog in. They also told me if the problem continues to just call them back and keep them posted on how my dog was doing. Most vet clinics wouldn't give you medical advice over the phone because they don't get paid. It would have been a very expensive bill for a weekend vet check. When you have lot's of pets the cost can get to be very expensive and they have made it affordable. Thank you so much St. James and Madelia Vet! You do a awesome job!

We are from the cities and have brought 2 different dogs to them over the years on our way to Ormsby. They have always been very professional and kind. When my black lab had an ear infection, they tried a couple different medicines and got it cleared up when a vet in the cities wanted to prescribe test after test with no results. I have always heard good things about St James Vet Clinic. Will continue to bring my dogs to them.

I recently had some problems with my dog. She wasnt eating/drinking hardly at all and had lost over 5 pounds. I was very concerned for her life and brought her to the St. James Vet. After the second visit in a week the most he could come up with was that she had back pain and gave her a steroid shot. I had a feeling there was more to it so I brought her to see Shirley Kittleson at Goldmount Vet Clinic in Sherburn, MN. She instantly told me my dog was very constipated and had some possible stomach issues. I wish I could have my $100 that I wasted at the St. James vet clinic back, I would donate it to a real clinic such as Goldmount. Save your money and go there!

I had several experiences over the years w/ pets and I finally decided to stop going. He over charges and in my opinion over orders tests unneccessarily increasing costs. Thank God I used my my judgement and saved my self alot of money.

The St. James Vet clinic recently responded to a dog emergency and they were wonderful. They arrived very quickly and were efficient and made decisions quickly. The were also very reassuring to the owners and told them what problems might result from the accident. Very knowledgeable.
