The staff members, including the receptionist, technicians, and Doctor??s are friendly. They all are extremely caring, and made me, and my pet feel very comfortable. Dr. Koppy and her associates are true professionals and made sure I understood everything before they moved forward with the necessary tests to diagnose my pet. Also, I didn't find it to be that expensive. Prior to make the decision to bring my pet to Lyndale Animal Hospital, after much research, I must say...that it was a wonderful experience and as long as I remain in Minnesota I will continue to bring my dog and cats to this clinic, only!

I had a great experience with Dr. Grindle. He was thorough and fully explained my options when he discovered my cat had a small tumor. He's very gentle with my cat and I can tell he really cares. The facility isn't fancy, but I care more about good care for my pet than a "pretty" facility. Very fair prices. Definitely will return again!

I had taken my pets to a different vet after I moved to Minneapolis a year or so ago. Having come from Nebraska, I suffered severe sticker shock. I went to Lyndale Animal Hospital the next time I needed a vet, and found they gave caring, timely, and excellent care and charged me a reasonable price. I had to put my elderly dog to sleep this week, and once again found them excellent.
I recommend them highly.

I have been bringing my animals to Lyndale Animal Hospital for many years and many of my family members and friends are Loyal clients as well. The Doctors and Staff members have all been Terrific throughout the years and given our pets the Best care possible. I have never walked into the clinic and noticed a bad odor, dirt, stains, etc. This clinic is well maintained and has been in our neighborhood since the 1930's. I highly recommend this clinic!

Dr. Grindle and his staff were extremely kind and welcoming. They treated my dog with the utmost care. Dr. Grindle was thorough in his examination and took the time to give me extra information on how to care for my dog. However, the facility was in horrendous shape. The smell of animal was strong and the air in the building did not circulate very well. I saw clumps of animal hair in the corners of the waiting and examination rooms. The chair I was supposed to sit in was covered with stains from who knows what. Lyndale Animal Hospital is in great need of a deep cleaning. I worry about the uncleanliness of the place and how it could possibly affect the health of my dog in the future. Therefore, I will not be returning. I do not recommend this place.

A few years ago, I took my Seeing Eye dog Wanetta to see our veterinarian at the Lyndale animal Hospital. She had not eaten in two days, would not play with her favorite toy and was generally listless. It was discovered that Wanetta had a temperature of 104.5F, a white cell count of 25,000 and other blood test results indicating an infection.
Dr. Schnack was very kind and gentle with Wanetta. When I informed him that she had Meningitis as a puppy, Dr. Schnack re-examined her records to determine what the course of treatment for the Meningitis had been and how she had responded. It happened that only the Seeing eye vaccination record had been photocopied during our initial visit, and not her complete health record.
Upon discovering the oversight, Dr. Schnack used his personal vehicle to drive Wanetta and me to our apartment to retrieve the missing records. Having confirmed his choice of treatment, Dr. Schnack drove us back to the clinic. Wanetta was given an injection of antibiotics and a ten day course of oral antibiotics was prescribed.
Now early evening, Dr. Schnack asked us to wait while he tended to his final appointment of the day. He, accompanied by his two dogs, then drove Wanetta and me back to our apartment. As we exited the truck, Dr. Schnack asked me to call him the next morning with a status report. During that call, Dr. Schnack told me that he would not be in the clinic for a couple of days but the veterinarian who would be there had been briefed on Wanneta's case. Then, he truly surprised me by giving me his home telephone number and telling me to call him if Wanetta did not improve or her condition deteriorated.
I was amazed by the extra effort, attention and assistance shown to Wanetta and me by Dr. Schnack. He has my deepest gratitude and appreciation.

PROS: Warm personal service, Willingness to refer when necessary, knowledgeable
CONS: Exam rooms may not be wheelchair accessible.

My husband and I have taken our Seeing Eye Dogs to Lyndale Animal hospital for ten years. They give a one third discount to service animals which has helped financially. More importantly, it's obvious that all of the staff -- from the veterinary technicians to the vets themselves -- go out of their way for their patients and the patients' humans. A technician named Stephanie volunteered to look into finding a way for us to receive free flea preventatives for our service dogs. A few years ago, Dr. Schnack drove my husband back home in order to retrieve copies of vet records. After the retrieval and visit, the vet offered the team a ride home again if they didn't mind waiting for one or two more patients.

There are the personal touches which add to the feeling of caring. The office stayed open a little later when I needed to put my first Seeing Eye Dog to sleep. Dr. Nielsen gently talked us through the procedure, gave me a hug, and cried along with me. We received a sympathy card from them soon after, and every holiday season, we receive a card from Lyndale animal hospital.

Probably the thing which has meant the most to me is that they are always willing to learn. Dr. Grindle has done a couple of things which probably work for most pets and their sighted humans . However, the working dog status, individual dog, and/or human's blindness make it advisable to take a different approach. Once he is made aware of the problem, he goes the extra mile to make sure it doesn't happen again. Dr. Grindle is just one example of how all of the staff is open to learning ways to do things which work best for the patients and their humans.

PROS: Going the extra mile, a caring personal touch, and Open to Learning
CONS: Most human beings make mistakes, and staff is composed of human beings.

I'm coming up on 30 years as a Minneapolis resident. It was my good fortune to rent my first apartment within blocks of Lyndale Animal Hospital. Two and a half decades and three homes later, I'm still making the trip to 26th and Lyndale--not because it's closest, but because of the trust I have in this clinic and its three terrific vets. Over the years, Drs. Schnack, Grindle and Nielsen have been willing to work with me. Never have I felt unnecessary tests or expenses were incurred, but whenever there's been any question of their capability to diagnose or treat a condition, they're quick to refer to a specialist. As a breeder of Irish water spaniels for over 20 years, I've come to rely on them through everything from whelping difficulties to a puppy with a stomach full of partially digested squirrel to easing my loved ones out of this life and on to a better one.

PROS: Caring and concerned--and a great sense of humor
CONS: Not a "con," but Drs.Grindle and Nielsen are the cat lovers

One of, If not "THE BEST" place around for animal care. We have three dogs, a cat and two ferrets. Midway handled them all like champs. I made an appointment a few days ahead of time. When I got there, I only waited 5 minutes before going back to see the DOC. He was very nice and gentle with all my animals. I have a very skidish dog that we rescued from an abusive home and she warmed up right to him. It was amazing. I would recommend to anyone. My dogs actually like going to the vet now. Which I never thought I would see happen.

I don't want the first thing someone reads about this clinic to be negative, so that is why I am writing about my experience here. I am a new pet owner, and my cat had some difficulty breathing ( I was told she had an upper respiratory

I brought my 1 year old cat in on Saturday, July 23rd. She was extremely sick, and dying in my arms while we waited for almost 2 hours before Dr. Koppy was able to see her. The outcome...she is dead! My Beautiful cat

I found this clinic from looking at reviews on line and found it is the highest rated vet clinic so I decided to transfer my pets from another clinic to this one. I have yet to have to go in though... because every time I call they are so helpful with home remedies for my pets... that I have yet to pay a dime for their service. I know with my previous vet, they would have required a vet visit to offer me such helpful advice.

A friend of mine used this clinic, at my suggestion, with her dog who was at the her life. They were very responsive and supportive throughout the process.

These folks are fantastic. Drs. Schnack and Grindle are superb veterinarians and their staff members are great at making your pet's visit as calm and caring as possible. The resident calico cat that sleeps in the front is also charming and friendly.

Dr. Grindle is a great vet. I brought my baby kitty to his office nearly two years ago and have not had any reason to switch vets, even though I have moved out of the area. I have run acrossed acquaintances who choose Lyndale Animal Hospital and feel exactly the same way. Dr. Grindle is very thorough and even makes sure the pet's parent(s) are adjusting well to any new situations which is greatly appreciated.

My cats have been going to Dr. Grindle for years, and they really like him. He is very gentle with them and he always takes time to answer my many questions. The office is clean and quiet (which seems to be more calming to the cats), the prices are very reasonable, and the staff is very friendly and accomodating.

Took my puppy in for his first shots. Was the best experience ever. The Dr was very nice and handled the puppy. My pup was not at all afraid or expressed any pain during the shots. The staff were very courteous and informative. Will definitely go again and highly recommend.

We took our St. Bernard to Lyndale Animal Hospital because she had become scared to death of the vet because of bad experiences at other clinics. But Dr. Grindle and his assistant were so good with her and were able to have her remain so calm that she didn't even know when her temperature was being taken or she was being given a shot. I also appreciated how he started our dog off with a reasonable treatment because her condition doesn't appear to be severe and didn't try to scare us into thinking that we had to do lots of costly, invasive, and potentially unecessary procedures. The facilities were neat and clean, and the office staff were very friendly and helpful. The cost of everything was reasonable, I thought, as well.

Dr. Grindle was fantastic with our little basset puppy, Roy. Roy got sick with Parvo and required hospitalization for a week. Dr. Grindle would call daily with updates and did not seem burdened when we would call for more updates. Eventually, Roy succumbed to the virus, but not before the entire staff provided everything within their power to keep him alive. Dr. Grindle even took him home at night to monitor his health.
