This is the best clinic I've ever been to. ALL the doctors I've seen have been kind, caring, and extremely professional. I'll tell you..from the time one reports oneself at the check-in desk to the time one leaves one is met with courtesy and consideration from all and sundry.

I would never go anywhere else.

This place is GREAT!!!

I have been to Smiley's many times with my neighbor and have sat in with her during her meetings with Dr. Baird.
Dr. Baird is one-of-a-kind; he listens; he welcomes the patient's ideas and he gives advice based on you, not a cookie-cutter approach.
He makes Smiley's a worthwhile experience.

Being a mother of 4 children 3 of them being teens. I have been to alot of clinics in and around Minneapolis. I just recently started going there for my care. After a few times of being there I am switching my whole family. I love the doctors, they are very knowledgeable and friendly they listen to what you are saying as well. All of the staff are very friendly. I am
greeted when I walk in the door, I have never had to wait there more then a few mins. Which is a shame cause their waiting room is cheerfully decorated. I am a person where customer service means ALOT to me. Especially when it comes to my healthcare and that of my family. I would recommend this clinic to anyone. I LOVE IT!!!!!

I have been going to Smiley's Clinic for several years as I love my doctor there and have always had excellent experiences. I did not hesitate to bring my son there when he was born last year. However, like A.W.H's review below, I have been extremely disappointed with the service I've received when I have had to call due to an unexpected illness (not uncommon with a new baby!). When he had his first ear infection, I wasn't sure what it was so I tried to be a responsible health care citizen and called to get a consultation with a nurse first thing in the morning rather than taking him in right away, resulting in unnecessary cost. Many hours later and after several repeat phone calls, we finally spoke with a nurse who told us there weren't any available appointments left that day anyway and recommended we go to Urgent Care when they opened. This was the start of several disappointing experiences, and I am now in the process of switching my son to a peditrician at another clinic. I will continue to go there myself because of my doctor and her team, but no more for my little one. Sad.

We have been taking our daughter to Smileys since her birth late last year. The location was the initial reason we chose the clinic; it is close to our home, is easy to get to, and has a pharmacy. We were apprehensive about the clinic upon our first visit, but things continued to go smoothly enough with the clinic and staff for us to continue seeing our doctor, who was great. After our last visit however, we will not return and we don't recommend anyone who cares about their child's care go to Smileys either. We got our daughter the first half of her flu vaccine yesterday. Today, we called to schedule the second half in late October. After waiting on the phone for 20 minutes, we were told that Smileys Clinic didn't have flu vaccines and that whatever it was that they gave our daughter was not a flu vaccine. The woman on the phone was argumentative, insolent, and ignorant. We demanded to know what the nurse had injected our daughter with and the woman on the phone huffed, complaining about the burden we were going to cause her by insisting she checked our daughters records. After another 5 minute wait, she returned, claiming that she couldn't find the records. We demanded that she answer our questions and find the records. She again complained about the inconvenience to herself and collected all of our daughter's information again while exhibiting an attitude I wouldn't accept from a fast food worker, let alone a health "professional." She finally got the records and checked with our nurse. After 40 minutes on the phone, we were told that our daughter had indeed been given the first half of the flu vaccine, but we couldn't schedule the follow-up appointment because Smileys, "wasn't sure they would have any vaccinations left in a month." The arrogance of the woman with whom we spoke was not the first time we were treated rudely at Smileys, BUT IT WAS THE FIRST AND THE LAST TIME WE WILL BE HELD HOSTAGE BY A HEALTH PRACTICE THAT SHOWS NO COMMON SENSE, COMPASSION, OR EMPATHY FOR PARENTS WHO WERE JUST INFORMED THAT THEIR DAUGHTER WAS POSSIBLY GIVEN AN UNKNOWN INJECTION. The utter lack of professionalism by this individual was simply a symptom of the larger problems we initially sensed upon going to the clinic. We will not return and we highly recommend that other parents avoid this practice. This Clinic deserves less than a one-star rating. What we experienced is probably every parent's worst nightmare.

There are a number of serious problems with this clinic. I have been going there for years but am in a process of changing because I am fed up with the level of service. Here are the problems
1. Billing - there are errors on bills everytime they send a bill
2. Administrative - they do not update insurace information. I started making copies of my insurance card and having them sign it and date it that the information was received. At least I have a proof (perhaps for my own satisfaction only) because they still do not update it.
3. Filling out health forms - they loose forms, and need several reminders that the form need to be filled out.
4. Professional care - probably the best part of the clinic. But you can get that at other places as well.

Overall, the clinic is probably a good choice for low income, not-service oriented customers. I am mentioning low income because these people may have some sort of a governemnt insurance and not care about billing. For the rest of the world, this clinic is a NIGHTMARE.
Avoid like a bad desease!

First of all, it's location is convenient for me. I can just take two hours off and go there, don't need to waste a whole morning or afternoon.
They have very friendly doctors and nurses, and they are knowledgeable. So I feel realxed and get to learn something every time I went there.
The waiting time is OK. They decorated their waiting area so you don't feel too bored while waiting.

PROS: Nice stuff
CONS:

I love this clinic because I don't have to park in a huge garage or take an elevator to see my doctor. Smiley's is great because they're linked to the U of M (if you need specialized treatments), but they're independent and seem to have everything I've ever needed right there. I usually do not have to wait more than 5 minutes before getting in to see my doctor, and my doctor is now my favorite - she's smart, listens to me, and explains everything very well. I love this clinic.

PROS: More personalized, very nice staff.
