I would agree with the other parents that it is dirty - very dirty. There are no cleaners and I would agree that it is sub par and actually much worse the chains. Some of the teachers are good and some of the teachers do next to nothing all day and other teachers and the director that support this.
They do not even look at the kids or talk to them or read to them - just sit around all day talking about themselves and conveniently disappear anytime work needs to be done. No thanks- I was a better babysitter than that when I was 12! I will invest in a good nanny-- no daycare for us!

We have been taking kids there for the past 7 years (this is our last). We only have them in 1/2 day at the pre-school. We have had a great time there. The best thing is that they are so flexible with how many days, what days, afternoon or morning or mix it all up for pre-school. If you need to change it, there is no problem. I have not seen any place more flexible. The teachers are very caring and will take the time to talk with you about any concerns you may have and help you come up with ways to help your child learn and be better with other children.

I have had both of my sons at open arms since I went back to work in Jan 2008. We could not be happier. We have recommended the center to our firends who have happily enrolled their children there as well. I love the christian environment and how the lessons and teachings are part of the curriculum. It has really helped us as we introduce our faith to our children, because they are already interested and excited about it. The staff truly care about the children. And I can tell that my boys love and care for their teachers. I have also been very pleased with how flexibile they have been with our family since my schedule is constantly changing, they have allowed me to re-arrange my time committment. I ma so happy that I chose Open Arms. I am never worried about the care my kids receive while I am working.

Hi!
I am a single mom that was looking for a great daycare for my child! My son started 2008-- and will be there until Kindergarden, so he will be there for 3 years. They are the BEST. I have never been to a daycare/school where they truely love the children. You can check out there progress with school teachers. He loves Ms. Michelle & Mr. Joel, awesome teachers. The Director, Natalie is very good at loving the kids as her own! My son is much better at sitting at church, talks about what God does for him & how much he loves God, wants to read the children bible & everything -- it is awesome!

My husband and I do not have a child in this center and there is a reason. First, there was a giant stain (about 3 ft x 2 ft) in the middle of the carpet in the entryway with a rug haphazardly thrown over it. Then, I realized that everywhere I walked, my shoes stuck to the linoleum. It was disgusting. Also, I overheard some employees talk to a toddler about whether another was his "girlfriend"--not exactly something you'd expect to hear in a Christian-based center. Finally, my husband and I were apalled when we saw a crib in the crib room missing a wheel. The crib was totally off-balance and still in use as it had one child's name posted on it. If you are busy professionals looking for childcare, don't waste your time touring this place. Look elsewhere.

i have been volunteering at Open Arms for about a month now and i have never been more surprised in my life. I never thought that teachers could love children this much but ever since i started volunteering there, i have grown attached to the children too. Open Arms is a very "homey" child care center with good christian values. These kids are learning so much and they always seem to have a great time. Ms. Elizabeth and Ms. Claudette are especially wonderful to these children when helping with art projects and just everyday problems. I can honestly say that i would recommend this child care to ANYONE. It really makes my day to go there and see all that they do for these children :).

I have 2 children who have both been at Open Arms. My youngest is still there. Our relationship with Open Arms has covered much of the past 6-7 years. I know exactly the period of time the previous unhappy writer was talking about. We were in on a bit of that but because I stopped working for awhile, we didn't have a child in the center during most of the "negative" year(s). And I have to say that based on what I heard from others, I may have taken my child out at that time regardless. The director at that time did a great diservice to a wonderful child care center. But I am happy to say that for the past several years an absolutely amazing woman has taken over the director position and has brought Open Arms back to and beyond all it ever was. It is truly an environment where my children have felt safe, comfortable and have experienced the love of God.

I couldn??t disagree more with Jenny B??s review below ?? it is nothing like a CHAIN daycare. My child was a student at Open Arms from age 3 months to 5 years (2000-2005). Open Arms was the answer for both my husband and I as well as for our child. We had nothing but wonderful experiences with the staff and management of the daycare-even through the management changes mentioned below. The teachers and volunteers in each room truly cared for our child. Everyday the teachers filled out a daily sheet on our child??s day and took a moment to talk to us personally about how the day went. We enjoyed the Christmas programs and the many opportunities that Open Arms provided for learning, childhood screening and fun. As parents, we never felt uncomfortable with leaving our child in the care of the staff and our child loved being there. In fact, when we moved into a new home 30 minutes away from daycare and an additional 15 minutes out of our way to the office my husband and I decided to try and find a provider closer to our new home. We tried something new for 6 months and hated it; we ended back at Open Arms. It was worth the extra time in the car. Our child now in the second grade, still remembers the teachers and friends that were made along the way. When our second child was born, we wanted nothing more than to have him attend Open Arms, but we just simply couldn??t afford to have two children at the center. It was a very hard decision for us to make. I would recommend Open Arms to any parent. It is a wonderful, clean, fun and safe facility, and is a terrific experience for your child(ren).

My wife works there and it is a great place with caring teachers. I had to say something on here to let people know that this persons review is not accurate. Stop by and see the place and speak to the teachers and your opinion will be different then the first review!!!

Run do not stop if you are looking at this childcare center. As a previous parent I can honestly say I was very happy with this school for the first 2 years my baby was there, but since october of 2003 it has not been the same. I was happy with this center because it was different than CHAIN centers. However the new management that took over on 10/03 has run it into the ground. It is no longer a nice homey christian center. Now it is no different than your big typical chain centers. When looking for a child care center it is important to have your children first and foremost. At Open Arms children are 2nd to making money. I have been informed by my childs preschool teacher that they are not purchasing supplies for the kids to do art projects because they do not have the money for it. I do not pay 500 dollars a month so my child can sit around and do nothing, no art, no sensory it is terrible.
