I bought a cable from them - a good deal at $15 (OfficeMax had the same thing for $29) - but I got it home, found it didn't fit, and then put it in "to be returned" box... got around to bringing it back about 2 weeks later - original packaging, original receipt, everything - and he wouldn't take it back. In the fine print of the receipt: "No returns or exchanges after 7 days."

So get your stuff home, try it out, and bring it back if you need to... don't dally. Not a very good way of building a customer base.

But I am starting to suspect their hardware is garbage.
I've had nothing but troubles with the two computers I've had with them. I'm fairly savvy with computers, and I can tell you I have been in there more than I care to. Several crashed hard drives, bad RAM, bad power supplies, 2 bad video cards.

There hardware is supposed to be upper quality, but sometimes I can't help but wonder what's REALLY in the box there.

Tran Micro is a wonderful computer repair center. It appears to be family run, since there have been children riding their tricycles around the store! I always leave my computer for the day, and he seems to be able to put everything together when I've had problems.
He doesn't charge for more than he quotes, and he doesn't try to upsell or sell me things I don't want.
I think this is a very honest and ethical business.
They even come out and help me carry everything in the store, and when finished, back out to my car.

PROS: Great service, and fixes it in a day
CONS:

My boyfriend and I have gone to Tran Micro to have many computers built. We had them build about four of ours, two that my mother has had, and one that my grandfather had. We've recommended them to friends, relatives, whoever would listen. They always do a wonderful job, their prices are almost always the best compared to General Nanosystems (we compare the two often, since they both are right near each other), and they answer any questions you may have in a very friendly manner. They're also much more friendly and less hectic than other stores, more laid back and personal. It's always a pleasure to work with them on getting a computer done, and each one we get lasts for a long time.
