My dog was hit by a car and thankfully had nothing broken but needed sutures, a drain tube and nursing care at home. We took her to a Vet in Hutchinson (since that is where we live) and will never go back.

When it was time to have her sutures removed at her regular vet we noticed that there was some dying tissue. They brought her in back removed her sutures and never addressed the wound; told us she didn't need her cone on anymore and sent us on our way. My Wife even asked if her e-collar should stay on since she is licking at it.

I sent a picture to my daughter (who works at Westonka Animal Hospital) and she asked Dr Craig and Jackie Piepkorn what should be done. Without charging us or asking us to come in and spend more money they advised us to clean the wound with a dilute antibacterial and fungal solution, continue to apply Silvadene cream to it. and keep her on antibiotics. The wound will take a long time to heal since it is so deep, and must wear her e-collar at all times. Today the wound isn't completely yet but is 1000 times better and in another week should be completely healed.

We are very impressed with the care and quality of service provided by Westonka Animal Hospital that we will never go back to see that other Vet.

I have been to a couple different vets but Westonka has come out on top. They are very personal, caring, and friendly. They explain everything to you and answer any questions with thorough responses. They truly care about your pet! They definitely get my recommendation!

I have been taking my pets to Westonka Animal Hospital for over 6 years. They have the nicest most knowledable staff I have ever encountered. The staff and vets are very kind to my pets and make them feel comfortable from the time we arrive through the exams. They are very good about letting me know what procedures will cost and why they are necessary. I have complete trust in Dr. Jackie and Dr. Craig. I would highly recommend them to people that care about getting the best for their pets.

The staff at this vet's office is friendly, and the doctor is good with the animals. I feel comfortable with the care that my pets receive there. It's a little unnerving to them, though, because a cat lives at the vet's office permanently. Since that one cat is there all the time, I'm sure its odor is more pronounced then all the other animals who are in and out of there on a regular basis. That made for a couple of nervous pets in the waiting room. But the care is good, and the people are nice, and I would recommend this location to anybody who has a pet that won't eat cats.

PROS: Friendly staff
CONS: Live-in cat
