Poor communication, rude, irritable. We booked ahead and were told to get our dog up-to-date on vet-recommended shots. We immediately took off to the vet to get up-to-date as our dog was just hitting his 3-year birthday. We were told $25

My beloved Pomi passed x-mas eve..it was a very sad time, I called Nancy at Paws to make arrangements for my Foxy. When I dropped her off, Nancy was there and helped me grieve and listen to stories about Foxy, she was very, patient, provided a calming presence, caring and gentle with myself and my Foxy. When I picked up her ashes, Nancy was there to provided comfort, laughter as i talked about Foxy and her crazy pomi stunts.

Not only do they provide care when your pet passes, they also provide great care for cats and dogs. My two boxer enjoy their play time at their facility. Their play areas are well kept and fully fenced, I feel very comfortable with Sara and Bandit running wild, I do not fear that they will escape, they are well looked after and cared for. Sara and Bandit know when they are on the way to their favorite day care, they bounce from side to side of the care...making excited whining noises, the moment my tires hit the driveway they are eager to get out and play..run and romp with their friends.

I would recommend Paws Claws & Hooves pet boarding to all pet owners looking for caring owners and a lovely facility.

Pros: Pat and Nancy are wonderful caretakers best kept secret

Cons: None by dogs love going to see Pat and Nancy

This past weekend I boarded my three large dogs at Paws Claws and Hooves. I was thrilled to find a boarding kennel that is operated by the owners, and not a bunch of kids, etc. It is very clear that their "guests" are viewed as loved pets, not just dollar signs walking through the door. After having a horrid experience at a popular West metro boarding kennel I went in search of a new caring facility for my dogs. I toured the kennel and was amazed with the care and thought that went into the construction and management of this facility. This was the first time my dogs returned from a kennel and didn't stink like one. No sneezing or irritated skin like they have experienced at other kennels.

Prior to this weekend stay, they have been going to Paws weekly for nearly two years. I can't say enough good about this location. The play areas are enormous and well maintained. Pat and Nancy have been a joy to deal with. It is very clear that this Mom and Pop operation is a labor of love of animals. While the hours may be limited for drop off and pick-up, the fact that you know who will be caring for your animal(s) is well worth the potential inconvenience. This is the best kept secret in the SW metro.

Worked for them for 2 days. Husband was very rude and disrespectful to me on my first day. If something was done out of order he would just yell at you. Thought second day would have been better....it was worse. I hated to leave the dogs ..but not the owners.
Brought my dog there once before working for them but...NEVER EVER Again!

I reserved a week for our dog and was told of the $50 deposite because of Spring break. I was told that it would be applied to the total at the end. Great...no problem and sent the check. Do not recall that I was told it was refundable, but I might have honestly missed that part of the conversation. Trying to give benefit to Nancy. I called 10 days prior to my reservation explaining that we need to cancel and was told the deposite is non-refundable. I explained that I don't recall that and don't have in writing. She was EXTREMELY rude refusing to give me my money back. Yes, I was angry and asked if she could see my side that she now has 10 days to fill that and said that she has already turned people away. Hmmmm. I told her that I am unhappy and will not refer clients to them and might just have to do a review on her poor customer service. Nancy then hung up on me. Yes, not even a goodby. If the owner treats customers this way, I can only imagine how they work with pets. Nancy was extremely hostile and rude. I would NOT recommend this boarding facility

This place is great, we went to the Hound Dog Pet Hotel and Spa in Eden Prairie for years and got a couple of good references on Paws Claws and Hoofs from some friends and gave it a try. It is very clean and run by people who absolutely love animals, they have a 2 acre play area for dogs to run in and several different Kennel/Run setups for what ever type of dog you have. Our dog loves the place and we feel much better about leaving him now that we have found Paws Claws and Hoofs.

Pros: Great staff of animal lovers and big 2 acre play area

Cons: It's not cheap but I feel it's worth the price and pick up and drop off hours are limited

I to reserved for 5 days and found myself paying for 6. We went on a camping trip and left our dog with Paws Claws & Hooves. When I came to pick up our dog she stated that we had booked the additional day. We discussed it and I just paid the extra day. I had asked if I could drop off 1 hour to 30 min early and was told no. At no time have I felt them going the extra customer service mile. For 233 dollars I think letting us drop off an extra 30 min early to begin our trip or backing down on the 6Th day would have been an effort at keeping me happy as a customer. I can not recommend doing business with them unless you keep your expectations low.

My wife and I have been taking our pets to Paws, Claws and Hooves for some 10 years now and can honestly say they are truly wonderful. As an advocate of pets and animals as well as a volunteer of some 12 years with the Greater West Metro Humane Society, formerly Wright County Humane Society, to say I am picky would be an understatement when it comes to the welfare of our pets. We have 6 cats and now 2 dogs since the passing of our beloved Coco, and have relied on Nancy and Pat as well as the staff to provide a safe well managed environment for our four legged friends. They provide a sparkling clean well lit facility with a true sense of love and caring for the many charges in trusted to them. Here pets have the opportunity to socialize in a safe and secure surrounding and the large exersise areas make going outdoors a highlight to our pets stay. After losing Coco, there was nobody else we would have trusted with her cremation other than Pat and Nancy. Their chapel is beautiful and offered us a quiet place to reflect before the difficult drive home with Coco's remains. This place is a 10+ and a great choice for anyones pet(s).

I am disgusted by the treatment my family received by the owners of this facility! I had 6 days reserved weeks ahead for our dog- On arrival I was charge for 7 days not 6. I questioned why and was told that that is what was reserved. My wife confirmed the exact dates that were reserved but the owners demanded we pay for the 7 days even though Brady would be there for only 6. I again said that we did not reserve the extra day and didn't feel that we should be paying for it. Nancy the owner then became very hostile and demanded that we remove our dog from her facility immediately and refused to keep our dog. I explained that we had a deposit with their company for weeks to reserve these 6 days. We explained that they were recommended by the Chanhassen Vet Clinic and we would be informing them as to the treatment we had gotten. Her husbands comment was that we can threaten all we want. That they have been in business for 9 years, had plenty of clients and never wanted us to do business with them again- The end of the story involved me calling the Scott County Sheriff's Department and two more trips to the kennel before I got my dog back!!! My wife and I are in disbelief by the way we were treated and the things that were said to us by these Nancy and her husband. If this is how they treat their customers how do they treat the animals they are supposedly caring for!!!

After doing further research I find that 4-26-06 they were charged with providing medical services without a lic.

I found this place to be ridiculously priced when compared to others. They are also very large and very noisy. I used them once only when I was in a pinch and my regular place was booked. I would not come back here.

If you work during the day, be prepared to take time off your job to pick-up or drop off your pet.

GOOD:
Inexpensive dog boarding.
Good selection of services

BAD
Limited pick-up times.
Not good for dogs that do not react well to be surrounded other animals. Main dog kennel area houses 20-30 pets at once.
Unfriendly staff, terrible customer service.
Dog walk area is very small.
Owner unwilling to accommodate needs of patrons/customers for drop-offs and pickup times.
