Given the recent dearth of burger joints, the 50's Grill has nothing to fear. At the 50's, the ground beef is fresh, prepared to order and the buns are all baked in house as are all the breads, pies, cakes... well, everything!

The simple, 50's style is comfortable for two or for a whole family. There are daily specials and the shakes & malts are perhaps the best in town.

The 50's Grill is yet another great reason to visit Brooklyn Center, MN!

Pros: Fun, comfortable 50's style with great food and malts

Cons: Can be busy but waiting for a table is a GOOD sign!

When my Mom & Aunt visited, they found this diner not too far from their hotel and absolutely raved about it. They loved the atmosphere, the food, and could have lived on their fresh baked bread.

So I have to admit when we joined them for lunch, I was a bit disappointed.

The atmosphere and staff are very fun. No points off there. But I found the food to be just as good as what we would cook at home. There wasn't really anything that made it so over-the-top wonderful that I would rush back to dine there on my own. Maybe when they come visit again....

Take a step back in time and visit Fifty's Grill. With the period decor and poodle skirt staff the parking lot seems to always be full. The food is above average and made from scratch (a big plus). Prices are reasonable and the place if very kid friendly.

The Fifty's Grill makes their own baked goods. Those hamburger buns can't be beat. But the carrot cake is no slouch either, and the cookies...wow! The rest of the food is good, too, if you are looking for a main course. Top it off with a malt and you've had the best.

You can't beat the 50's Grill for fresh, homemade cooking! From the meatloaf to the favored Chicken pot pie, to the homemade burgers & tasty fries, this is a nostalgic look back to when life was simpler - and lots of fun! The decor is filled with pictures and articles from the 1950's - including the old, ever-present juke box. 50's music fills the air. The servers - in their poodle skirts - remind you of past high school days. And what would a 50's restaurant be without the ever-famous shakes and malts? The best you will find anywhere. Try their pies and cakes - a delicious meal-ending treat. Yum! It is our favorite hang-out!

The food is great and the service is fast and efficient. For those of us that remember the 50's it's a trip back in time and for those who wish they knew the fifties it provides them with a peek into that world. The best thing on the menu is the Bison Burer. It is jusicy and tasty (order it rare or medium rare). The malts are the best around and come in every flavor you could want. My favorite is the Mocha-Coffee. the prices are resonable for the portions you get. The nice thing about the 50's grill is that the portions are not oversized towhere you walk out feeling over stuffed.
My wife and I have been eating there since they opened and will continue to eat there, when we can find a seat.

Pros: Good food at a good value and kid freindly

Cons: Sometimes you have to wait, but the waiting area is fun and anything this good is worth waiting for

The only reason to go to the 50s Grill is for their delicious malts which comes in a multitude of flavors. However, the food is very cheaply made and quite expensive for the portions they come in. I ordered Grandma's Homemade Meatloaf along with a side of caeser salad the last time I went and was disappointed. The salad measures up to only about a cup and a half, and was very bland. The meatloaf was gray in color and was lukewarm. I would not return there ever again.

The parking lot always seems to be full! Very crowded but very worth it. This seems to be a flashback in time to actual service and cooking that lacks in alot of restaraunts.

All the food is made from scratch and the deserts are to die for. The milk shakes are huge and delicious. The cakes are amazing.

We had a last minute need for a large group [like 30 people!] on a Sunday afternoon this summer and I called just a couple days before that to see if by some miracle they would take a reservation or something. They were so nice and set aside tables for us all and gave us our own waitress. The service was wonderful, food wonderful, highly recommend!

The food used to be great. Fresh juicy burgers and buns, big portions. They must have changed vendors or something. The food isn't nearly as good as it used to be.
