Great place, especially if you're the type who likes alternatives to the chain stores. Laid back, arty feel, original decor, warm in the winter and owner Tammy is one of the nicest people in the city. Coffee is good and not expensive. Free wi-fi. (Don't all you readers go or there'll be no place for the regulars to sit.)

Caffetto may be conveniently open until 1 a.m. most nights, but I have never been treated with more rudeness by a barista than I ever thought possible. Apparently being snide and snippy is part of the employee training over there. Honestly I could easily overlook the mediocre products and grungy atmosphere, but I can't forgive very unfriendly service. This is an extremely clique-y coffee shop that is trying to be too cool for its own good. I would recommend any other local store- Spyhouse, Bob's Java Hut, Sebastian Joe's, or even a chain store like Caribou or Starbucks- over Caffeto. I was so turned off by my one interaction with the staff I try to avoid supporting them at all costs, even though I live right nearby.

They may not have the best coffee in town but it is above average and I love supporting a small local business that appreciates their customers. They have great art on the walls, a variety of seating and board games!

I love this place. I come here all the time to study, surf the web, play trivial pursuit and sit outside on warm summer nights talking about the existence of the universe with other over educated, under employed neighborhood folks.

Caffetto is handy if you need wireless internet late at night--they're open till 1:00 a.m., later than any other area coffee shops. The atmosphere is generally quiet, with many people studying at the small tables or on the rather ratty couches. The walls often display artwork by local artists.
There is a selection of board games, as well as a basement area that includes pinball machines and a pool table in addition, in case you're there to slack off instead of to study. The lighting is rather dim and the outlets can be scarce, so you may want to bring an outlet splitter.

Good coffee and great ownership make Caffetto a Twin Cities coffee gem. With a warm ambiance and conversation in every corner, this place attracts a wide variety of patrons. Go sit at the bar and talk to the staff or grab bite to eat and have a smoke at an outdoor table. There is really no better place to spend a morning, afternoon, or evening in southern Minneapolis.
