I recently had positive experiences with Blue Pearl as they twice treated our 16 year-old cat, Georges throat stricture apparently caused by extended treatment with Clindamycin. Balancing our cats comfort, chance of recovery, recovery

My one year old German Wirehaired Pointer hurt his back leg over the weekend. I took him to his normal vet who sedated and examined and xrayed the area. He determined that the leg was stable and that maybe there could be a tear so I was referred to Blue Pearl in Blaine. The Dr immediatly stated that my dog had an unstable leg and would need reconstructive knee surgery and it would cost $3600. This was very difficult to believe--I know my dog is hurting but to need that operation just didnt feel right.
I took my dog to another Dr who was highly recommended by breeders I know. This Dr reviewed the xrays did a examination of the joint and area and stated that the knee was stable--he thought that it was a possible strain/stretch. He did not believe he needed reconstructive surgery and was upset that it would have been suggested as the first remedy.
Do not take your family member to this mill where the main concern is making the allmighty dollar and not what is best for your beloved pet. I will never take a pet there nor will I recommend this place to anyone -- I will tell everyone I know about our experiance there.

WE were very disappointd in this vet clinic. After reading other reviews, think we are not the only ones. we knew our dog was very ill, and had made plans to put her to sleep. our vet thought they could help us and we agreed. our only stipulation to the vbisit was that we could not afford expensive surgery, or MRI. we were there ten minutes and they wanted us to have both at a cost of around $5000. we of course declined stating we had already declined, they had no other options for us and actually said that they would have to say taht even after surgery, she would be much the same. I dont understand the push to do expensive things to maybe let our dog have six months more of pain. the oush was big to gt the line of credit to finance. I feel like the others that they are just there to order expensive and costly care for things that may not change. i have been trying to get a refund since the day of our visit with no luck. I am now working witht the attorney general in our state. ridiculous!

I had to bring our dog here to see the opthamologist. It did take awhile to get an appointment, but that was expected since there aren't that many animal eye dr's. The staff was very friendly. The vet was very gently with the dog. I was given a nice report at the end of the visit with very clear instructions. Highly recommend this clinic.
