I was a returning customer and had gold to sell. I expected a fair price from a local shop, don't we all? Instead I was taken advantage of. Be ware of the wife talking to you, and focus on the numbers, she is a diversion. Will never go

February 24, 2011...STAY AWAY...they are a huge rip off....I took my wife's wedding ring for sizing as it was too large....they measured, and called us in a week to say it was done....They screwed it up and she could not get it on her finger without scraping off her skin.....We took it back and asked them to size it correctly, and they CHARGED us again...Unbelievable!!! And the Ron guy told my wife to stop gaining weight....Can you believe that? she has not added a pound in five years, but that is beside the point...they screw up and do not stand behind their product/service......

I too had a problem with AV Jewelers in January 2008 when Dan was running the store. I had not been back until I heard it had been sold to new owners. I stopped in there, August 2010, with a question on a damaged ring. The new owners were very knowledgable and suggested I bring it in. I did and they were able to repair it while I waited. If you had problems with Apple Valley Jewelers in the past, I suggest you stop in again.

I left a Rolex watch for a repair estimate in February and still do not have it in August. The jeweler told me he didn't know where it is, whether it had been sent to a local repair shop or to Rolex in NY. He told the Apple Valley Police it was at Rolex in NY; however, they accept only from authorized Rolex dealers. The BBB stated that their inquiry was never acknowledged and that the store has an unsatisfactory rating with them. Why don't I have my expensive watch?

My court date is Jan.12, 2009, with the AV detective on the case testifying for me. He also was told by Dan that the watch was at Rolex; however, the store records showed it had been sold !

I bought an engagement ring for my fiancee, and spent well over $5,000 on the ring. The ring was to be in white gold, and the band was to be 2 mm in width. It was also to be a Tiffany setting. After picking up the ring, and taking it to my fiancee in Baton Rouge, we noted that the band on the ring looked like the band that you would see on a ring from a bubble gum ball machine. When I measured it, it was under 1 mm. We took the ring to several jewelers in Baton Rouge, and all of them agreed that it was well under 2 mm in width. Furthermore, they did not use white gold. When we put it next to a 2mm white gold ring, the difference was astounding..

We immediately called Dan at Apple Valley jewelers, and he said that the band was 2 mm (it definitely is not). He also said that he always waited to dip the ring in white gold until it was fitted. However, we had already told him that my fiancee lived in Baton Rouge, and gave him the exact size. In fact, the size was fine. When we told the jewelers in Baton Rouge what Dan said, they rolled there eyes and said that they dip their rings in white gold in the beginning, and every six months thereafter.

When we talked to Dan, we asked him about the 7 day money back guarantee that was written on the receipt. He said that there was not one, but that we could exchange the ring.

Dan's lack of credibility is clear. If you want to be robbed, go to Apple Valley jewelers. Meanwhile, I will be taking them to Small Claims Court to recover my money. Oh, and by the way, rather than calling my fiancee, he insisted that she call him, to save on long distance fees. Not the kind of guy to do business with, to say the least.

I bought an anniversary gift for my girlfriend here not too long ago. I bought a nice pair of earings that I was given a nice deal on. My girlfriend loved them. Needless to say, I am very happy with Apple Valley Jewelers.

Apple Valley Jewelers is great jewelers. My husband bought my engagement ring there. We went back and purchased our wedding bands. I custom designed my ring and they were great to work with. My husband ordered his name brand ring through them for cheaper than any of the other jewelers that we compared. There location is not the best if you are not familiar with Apple Valley. The store is small, but well kept. The staff is excellent, very nice and helpful.
