Reviews for Byerly's Roseville

Ratings_icons A Fabulous Resource!

Richard G.

I shop each year at the Roseville Byerly's for a group of trout fisherman heading to northern Wisconsin for a week of adventure and fine dining. I spent $1,046.00 this year and was one of three provisioners. Byerly's does an extraordinary job for me every year. I special order from the meat department. Every tenderloin, leg of lamb, rack of lamb, veal roast, and boneless pork chop is meticulously prepared and ready for my early morning pickup. The cheeses available are among the finest. Produce is exquisite. Fruit and vegetables are perfect. All store personnel are extremely friendly and helpful. I have been led personally to any item I seek by any store person I encounter, from a person stocking shelves to the Store Manager. The store is beautifully organized, always pristine, and completely stocked. Selections are plentiful. Ruby, my lovely checkout person, is very friendly and always helpful. The gentlemen who bag the groceries and then load them in the car are great. One cannot ask for a better grocery shopping experience. I only wish Byerly's were closer than a two hour flight from my home. I will never shop anywhere else. Rick Goddard

I've shopped at Byerly's since the St. Paul store opened in 1971. Last year, I was denied 2 pieces of seasonal pie in 3 different departments. The exact same thing happened tonight. Seems that the vanilla-sizing of the Lund's and Byerly's stores just hasn't worked. I'm moving permanently to Kowalski's.

After shopping at this location with my mom as a kid, I decided to shop there myself. In all honesty, I'd rather just go to Cub and pack my own groceries. The deli people are so slow that I wonder if they all have some sort of disease that is eating brain cells. I ask for thinly sliced meat and they give me chunks...then they ask me how much thinner they could make it. I could do it thinner at my house with a butter knife.

The checkout people have been down right rude to me. One woman yelled at me because I couldn't remember what kind of muffin my daughter had gotten from the bakery. That same day the guy who packed our groceries yelled at me because I wasn't willing to carry the three bags to my car.

I am completely willing to pay the higher prices for better service, but I might as well go to the do-it-yourself places and walk out with an extra $50! I have never been treated so rude.

Oh, and my husband who never complains says it is the closest place to the Twilight Zone that he has ever been.

I used to go to this store until they turned over to new management a few years ago. They no longer seem sure of what they are doing. There are duplicate sections of cookies and crackers indifferent isles...

Not long after this management changeover I was checking out and happened to be with my mother and the cashier asked if that was my partner. This seems to be the type of people who work there.

They also have strangely aggressive security personnel. I have been followed around this store in an obvious way. I was born here and am Scandinavian descent. I cannot imagine what type of behavior that really "different" people encounter in this particular store.

I used to shop here often as my grandmother lives nearby. But these people in charge of the store definitely strike me as dangerous. So I have sworn off this location.

Such a shame there are such stupid people down here in charge of things...

Byerlys caters to those that wish to have a fine grocery shopping experience. I've been shopping there all my life, and I've never had a problem with an employee, and even when I've had a request for something, they've always been eager to assist me.
The prices are higher than the other chains in town, but you're paying for better service.
