The Service technicians at Youngstedt's Maple Grove (who are paid commission on each service they can sell you, as was confirmed to me by the trainee who gave me a lift home when I dropped my vehicle off) decided to take me for a ride. I brought my vehicle in because it was burning oil. I knew it was burning oil (not leaking it), because I park it in the same spot in my driveway each night and there was no oil spot. I relayed this to the owner's kid who checked me in when I dropped it off. So I was a little surprised when he called 2 hours later to tell me that it was leaking all over the place and I would need a new oil pan gasket. I really wanted to believe him, as an oil pan leak is a lot less serious than an engine burning oil, so when he explained something about only leaking when under the pressure of driving I bought it and gave the go ahead. $600 later I was still burning oil. When I brought it back 3 days later complaining that it was still burning oil, the technician recommended another $400 service that was since confirmed to me by a different mechanic to be a completely made up solution that didn't even make mechanical sense. When I asked what they could do for me since the initial fix obviously wasn't the problem and I had suggested as much when I dropped it off, they offered me $25 off the 2nd repair. So they did $600 in unnecessary work on my car, offered a $25 discount if I'd give them $400 more business which still wouldn't have fixed my problem. Was I gullible taking them up on the first repair? You bet. But this is a shop that recommends completely unnecessary repairs and won't stand behind their work.

When I was sliding all over the place with hardly any snow on the ground I went in to Goodyear Maple Grove and had them check out my tires. Almost bald so I bought a set of Goodyear Comfort Tread's. Liked them so much, I said something about getting a set for our van which also needed tires... Brian followed up with me about 2 weeks afterwards to see if we were ready to buy the tires for the van. He did all the legwork to find the tires, find my rebate giftcard and call me back. Talk about great customer service!! So, I bought another set from him. They do an exceptional job and really treat their customers well. I've been to other Goodyear stores - but really like dealing with the guys in Maple Grove so I keep going back there even though I don't live there and they are out of my way.

Awhile back, my husband was consumer shopping for new tires for both of our cars. After much searching, he ended up at Goodyear Tire, because he was so impressed with their tires and their services. Instead of getting four tires for his car, he had them put four tires on my car also. He thought that the staff was extremely helpful and friendly to him. We are enjoying our new "treads" every day. It was nice that the Goodyear Tire store is only a couple of miles from our home. If you are in the market for new tires, I would highly recommend Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Maple Grove, I can highly recommend them because that is what my husband tells everyone. Please check it out before you decide on going anywhere else to buy your tires.

PROS: Friendly, efficient
CONS: none
