Dr. Ekholm and the wonderful staff were fantastic. We had never been to the clinic before when our poor dog "Sam" tangled with a porcupine and had a face full of quills. He was in serious misery. Everybody at the animal hospital was so compassionate and dropped what they were doing to help us immediately. Sandy was anesthetized, quills pulled and then the drugs were reversed to allow him to walk out a much happier pooch. Thank-you thank-you thank-you!!
Let's see, How long have I been going to Walker Animal Hospital, maybe 2 maybe 5 years? No closer to 18 years..
Steve has taken care of 3 of my dogs, Sasha, was the first, great puppy,,,Lived to be 14..Then came Kalie, followed by Corky, Kallie and Corky are still with us, thanks to Steve and his love for dog's, all pet's really, Kallie was hit and miss for a bit, with leg problems,,Steve got her through it, She's looking at 12 coming up.. Steve I can't thank you enough...I highly recommend Steve and his Practice,,And also all those staffer at Walker Animal Hospital..Take care MR B...
I decided to take my new kitten here since it is really the only vet in the area. I was extremely impressed. They ladies at the desk were friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond what they needed to do for a first visit including trimming my kitten's nails. They explained everything they were doing, gave me advice about what I can do, and also gave me a free kitten kit! I would recommend this place to anyone and I know my cat would too! :)
they are very rude and mean and uncaring they refused to see my dog who was pretty much dying in my car because we were not regular cusomers and i didnt have 300 up front i had about 150 with me and offered them a credit card number they still refused i said i dont understand how a vet can be so uncaring and these were the vets exact words "i dont understand how people like you think you can have pets if you cannot afford it" well i can afford it and you lost all my business and i will not recommend them to anyone. but thank you to the ark animal hospital that took care of my dog right away they were so nice. so thank you ark

On a recent trip to northern MN our beloved cat fell terribly ill...we, not knowing any of the vets in the area, located the Walker Animal Hospital just through the yellow pages. We were more than impressed with the state of the art facility we were presented with as well as the fantastic, caring doctor and staff...I feel that Walker Animal Hospital is a great clinic where pets get quality care and their owners compassion and great education.
The Walker Animal Hospital is the only local vet in the area right now. While they take good care of the pets, the vet himself does not have what I would call a very good bedside manner. The staff is friendly enough though. I also think they are on the expensive side. They will do whatever it takes to help the animal, no matter the expense. While I can appreciate that, they need to discuss things over with the owner first and explain all of the options available.
