I would SO recommend Laurie's! My daughter has been going there for several years now and is in compition. Its tough for her but the teachers are amazing and help whenever needed. The staff has amazing choreography and is very kind. Only in the studio 1 time a week for an hour and a half and you still learn a ton unlike those other studios that you go to like 6 days a week for 4 hours each day and still other studios can learn as much as that, in little time. Trust me, if your looking for a nice studio with kind staff and not very time consuming, go to Lauries. They have all of that plus more and they don't focus on your figure they focus on your skill. Yeah maybe if your very flexible you might get a special part in the dance but everybody is included and not one person shines out more then the next.

Lauries School of Dance is a well rounded studio. I myself danced there for many years in regular weekly classes and eventually in their competition lines. I still come back to watch their recitals. Laurie has been in the buisness for longer than most studio owners and runs her studio with a professional yet relaxed attitude.

Any comments about Laurie or any of her teachers being biased toward any student based on weight, race, sex or any other factor has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Lauries wonderful competition teachers base everything on the individuals abilities NOT on the way they look. I think parents need to stop putting so much pressure on a child to be in the "front line". How can we sit here and talk about how this should be a good experiance for our children when you have a for lack of a better term "stage mom" putting so much emphasis on a placement in a performing line. Being in a performing line for many years of my young life I can tell you that its just a line. Thats all. Someone has to be in the front, middle, and back.

When my daughter turns four next year I will be enrolling her at Laurie's. Because I know, not from being a mom on the sideline but from being a student of Laurie's and all of her competition teachers, that my daughter will have the same treatment as every other student in that studio.

I have been dancing at Laurie's for 11 years now and I think it's been a blast. The competition lines are tough, but only for the benefit of the group of course. our class is wonderful, everybody gets to know each other well, and we all have a great time dancing there. I'm the only guy in the studio and I don't feel any discrimination towards me or others. there's my two cents on the matter, if you want to call me, I'll be glad to answer.

I would not recommend Lauries school of dance. My daughter went there and despite her great dance skills (which were acknowledged by the owner) we were told she would never be in the front line at competition or recital because she doesnt have the slimmest figure. We all put our children in these sort of things to help them become more social, well rounded individuals. Our experience with Lauries did the exact opposite. We now go to another dance school that judges based on their performance as opposed to how the children look.

Well my daughter has been going there for seven years and they were the seven best years of her life. I think Laurie's school of dance is one of the best dance studios you could go to because my daughter has been taught so well and has had so much fun, she is now doing the competition line. So, thank you guys for all your hard work at Laurie's school of dance!

I would recommend Lauries school of Dance. She is reasonable and good with the kids. My daughter has been taking dance for 6 years and just loves it. give her a call! She starts the classes at the age of 3 and goes up to senior in High School. In the Spring time , she puts a recital on with all the dancers in. She also has dance for people that want to do competition. She works one on one with each students and has been doing dance since the 1960's so she has alot of experience.
