After reserving a storage location at this site, my wife and I called and confirmed our reservation 4 times. The last time was the day before we pulled into town with a truck load of furniture. When we arrived at the storage site we were told that they did not have a storage unit for us. I was floored, our truck rental agreement included the first month of the storage unit and was already paid for.

Instantly I flashed back to an old Jerry Seinfeld episode and asked the clerk what a confirmed reservation means. She was blunt and said it does not mean that we have a unit for you; it means if we have a unit when you show up you can have it. She then told us they had not had an opening at this storage site in more then 6 months. We were then offered another storage unit at a site 60 minutes away. We turned this down and asked for a refund. Here the clerk was not able to help us but referred us to UHual phone service which told us that since we turned down the alternative site we were not entitled to a refund. It took many phone calls and more then 3 weeks but finally UHaul agreed to refund the money.

They are good at taking the reservation and confirming the reservation but are completely lousy at fulfilling the reservation.

PROS: None
CONS: Makes reservations even if they do not have a unit to rent you
